Picked up these two vintage post cards at the Old Book and Paper show last week. Dated from 1906 and 1907. I was told they are referred to as Vinegar Valentines. Very popular in the early 1900’s to send to people anonymously.

This is the Corona 3 folding typewriter. An extremely popular typewriter produced from 1912 until 1941. The success of the Standard Typewriter Company’s Corona 3 model promoted the company to change its name to the Corona Typewriting Company in 1914. These 3 machines dated from 1916, 1921 and 1923 will be on display at the Old Book and Paper show this Sunday in Toronto. See you there.

Started tearing down this Underwood No.3. Was inspired after seeing the great job Lucas at did on an Underwood No. 5. I’m starting to reassemble the type bars after a clean and polish. Everything is coming together nicely and the bell is amazing! Should have this ready to display at the Old Book and Paper Show in Toronto at the end of the month. Cheers,

On the bench today is one you don’t see all the time. The 1960’s Eaton’s Prestige in the dark charcoal. Made by Smith Corona for the Eaton’s Department store. They came in a few unique colours. Lime & Avocado green, and beige/brown combos. This grey with white keys is my fav. Another machine ready for the Old Book and Paper show in Toronto at the end of the month. Oh and it was a super foggy day here in Caledon and Watson wanted to add a picture of his best Hound of Baskerville. Cheers,

On the bench tonight is this fantastic 1961 Olympia SM3. In the exotic Ivory Pearl finish. These German built machines in my opinion are just top of the line for performance. Just the right amount of chrome, the brown Bakelite keys and the ivory finish. Just amazing. I will have this machine on display at the Old Book and Paper Show at the end of the month in Toronto.
