June is Indigenous History Month! A time for non-Indigenous folks to reflect on the impacts colonialism has had on Indigenous People, but it’s also a time of celebration, to support and uplift Indigenous voices, something that certainly shouldn’t be limited to one month out of the year!

Today we’re sharing a new artist we’ve brought into the shops, Mino Ode Designs! Jacquie’s beadwork immediately caught my eye due to her use of soft pastel colours, the intricacies to her designs, and the values she carries that extend beyond her business.

Here are some of my dirty little secrets. I am certainly no Type A but as unhinged as some of these may appear, I do feel organized in my own way, and no, I am not here for a diagnosis lol.

I wouldn’t say I recommend my way of doing things, but I’ve lasted 15 years in business, so clearly something is working! I think all us business owners have our own systems and ways of working. For me I shifted some of my habits as my team grew. You have to make adjustments as your business evolves, some were easier for me, some came less naturally, some are still works in progress! There’s no guidebook for entrepreneurship 🙃
