Red Ridge Millwork & Design Ltd Custom Wine Cellars + Bars, Design Services, Custom Furniture Design and Manufacturing, Custom Dining Tables, Custom Built-In Furniture, Custom Cabinetry

My name is Greg Snyders and I've been designing and building furniture, cabinetry and wine cellars for about 20 years. Our shop is located in Stayner Ontario. We work exclusively in the Georgian Bay area now after years of doing installations in the GTA and the Muskokas.
30 years experience in the construction industry has shown me that with custom built solutions, nothing is impossible. For that reason I work hard to meet and exceed the expectations of my clients and bring their ideas to life.

As the owner of Red Ridge Millwork & Design Ltd. it has been my privilege to design and build many wonderful projects for many wonderful clients over the past 20+ years. I always appreciate the fact that such good people give me their TRUST…. A matter that they have told me has become ever more important as honesty and transparency have suffered in business practices of all kinds.

So I wish to say thank you for your patronage, encouragement and Trust. You know who you are. You’re the BEST!
Cheers

And now...for something completely different!
Been wanting to start working with GFCI for like ever. My current custom bar and wine cellar project needed a lower working countertop so now was my chance for the Concrete Experience crash course...

Yes there are several curved counter sections that are curvy like...so what?
Yes it has a continuous 2" formed front drop edge...so what? (Uhmmmm...what have i got myself into!!)
Yes, ive never made a concrete form before....SO WHAT?

As always, when facing the unknown just grit your teeth, roll up your sleeves and give 'er...
Gotta say im not unhappy with this first project. Small imperfections that are easily fixed. The gfrc blend had a learning curve but worked amazing.
Big Thankyou to Sculpture Supply Canada for help and confidence building tips 👍...

Installation is happening in a couple days...So I'll try to remember to take some pics.

Now...what to make next?

How does one flatten miters on 6" thick x 36"high x 46" long x 180-200lbs sections of carved bar face?
Besides very carefully?!...Heres one way i figured might work and had really good success with.
The rigid carriage for the router flattening jig scews onto the top and bottom once the correct angle is found. Both top and bottom are never going to be seen so the screw holes don't matter.
I use a 2" carbide insert (metal milling) head on which i turned down the shaft to 1/2" to fit a standard router collet.
New TRITON 3.25 HP plunge router has power to spare.
This rig will work on any angle and makes perfectly flat surfaces in seconds.

Dont say "I can't". Say "I will" then find a way. It forces growth and expands your skills as well as what you see as possible...which is ANYTHING!!

Jatoba bar corner detail. 1/2 cleared with OSMO and other half still raw. Carving depth varies from 0-4.5" so lots of relief. Total depth before starting to carve is 6.5"

At close to 200 lbs each there has to be a serious connector. These ahould do the trick. Makes for easy adjustable alignment in the shop while we are working on them and onsite when installing. One at each joint at the top and another down near the bottom at the back.
Works great so far...👍
