Big and fun news friends!!! 💗🪩🍸✨

After sooo many requests from our community over the years, we’re excited to announce the launch of Conscious Consignment by The Conscious Closet: a new way to sell clothing coming soon🫶🏻

We see you. We hear you. And although so many of you have generously asked to donate (thank you!!!🥹), we wanted to create a way for quality clothing to stay in circulation while simultaneously allowing our community to earn from the pieces that they’ve loved and cherished.

Our mission has always been to make secondhand shopping feel just as exciting, accessible, and rewarding as buying new, and Conscious Consignment is another step toward that goal💗

Consignment intake will be limited and by appointment only. More details (including application information) coming soon!✨

I think we’ve all watched overconsumption quietly become the norm. Making purchases from being “influenced” or even for the small rush it gives is super duper common, even when those items end up barely used. Eventually, many of us have a moment of awareness (whether from informational content on Instagram and TikTok, or trends like “underconsumption core”) where we realize we simply have too much stuff. It feels overwhelming. It feels overstimulating. It feels wasteful.🥴

So what do we do? We declutterrrr! We bag up the clothes we don’t wear (even if we just bought them), the kitchen tools we don’t use, the random decor from homesense that never quite worked. Some of it goes to thrift stores, some of it gets thrown away. It feels productive. It feels like a reset. I’ve been there, and there’s def a satisfying element to it. 🧺✨

But often, once the space is cleared and the absence of those items becomes noticeable, the urge to shop creeps back in, and the empty space slowly gets filled again with new purchases and the cycle starts over. Helloooo little miss overconsumption! 🛍️

As a thrift store, we’re not immune to this conversation either… buying secondhand is absolutely a more sustainable option than buying new, and keeping items in circulation is important. ♻️

But transparently speaking, even though WHERE we shop is crucial, but HOW we shop is what ensures sustainability actually lasts! ✅

Before bringing something home, it can be worth asking:
Do I really need this?
Do I already own something that could serve the same purpose?
