For the last two years, many of you have been asking for more opportunities to craft together between Creative Women's Week retreats.

Today, I'm excited to officially introduce Creative Women's Collective.

Creative Women's Collective was created to bring the same values that have always guided Creative Women's Week into an online community where we can gather throughout the year.

This isn't just another membership.

It's a place where creative women can connect, learn, encourage one another, work on projects together, and enjoy dedicated creative time from the comfort of home.

One does not simply walk past a Creative Partner's table setup. 😂

At least, not if you're a crafter.
You're supposed to stop.
Admire everything.
Pick things up.
Tell yourself you don't need them.
Pick them up again.
And somehow leave with them anyway. 🤣

The problem is that when I'm setting up a Creative Women's Week event, I'm actually supposed to be working.

This year, I had to rely on Sherry from Memories and More to keep me on track.

There I was, wandering over to her beautifully set up store, getting distracted by all the pretty things, when Sherry kindly reminded me that it was not, in fact, shopping time yet. 😂

Apparently setting up tables, signs, prizes, and event supplies should take priority over browsing crafty goodness.

Who knew? 🤷‍♀️🤣

Thankfully, Sherry embodies everything I love about Creative Women's Week. She's creative, kind, supportive, and always ready with a smile (and occasionally a reminder to get back to work).

Have you ever attended a retreat solo? ❤️

If not, you might be surprised to learn how many ladies come to Creative Women's Week on their own.

Some arrive knowing nobody.

Some are nervous.

Some wonder if they'll fit in.

And almost every one of them tells me afterward that they are so glad they came.

One of the things I love most about this community is how welcoming the ladies are. It doesn't take long before conversation starts up around the meal table, before a lady is peeking at your work for ideas and asking how you did that, sharing supplies, or introducing you to a new friend.

By the end of the week, many solo attendees are already making plans with the women they just met.

I've watched many friendships begin at a crafting table.

So if you've ever thought about attending a retreat but didn't have someone to come with, consider this your reminder that you don't need to wait for a friend to say yes.

Sometimes the best friendships start when you come alone. ❤️

Behind the scenes... 👀

Have you ever wondered how the snack table and drink station magically appear at a Creative Women's Week event? 😂

It actually starts long before the event.

When you fill out your registration form, I collect all of your drink and snack preferences and compile everything into a spreadsheet.

Then I figure out how much of each item is needed for the week.

How many cans of Coke?

How many bottles of sparkling water?

How many buckets of licorice, chocolate, chips, and other goodies?

Once the calculations are done, it's time for the shopping trip.

And by "shopping trip," I mean recruiting my husband for the heavy lifting. 🤣

Cases of drinks.

Buckets of snacks.

Carts piled high.

And one very, very long receipt.

By the time we're done, the vehicle is loaded with enough goodies to keep a room full of creative women fueled for the week.

It's one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that most people never see, but I love knowing that when you walk up to the snack table, there's a good chance you'll find one of your favorite treats waiting for you. ❤️

That doesn't even include the cases of drinks, extra totes for the dirty table cloths, printers, machines, stamps, ink, tools, equipment, and other larger items that travel separately!

It always makes me laugh when I stop and think about how much "stuff" goes into a Creative Women's Week event. What starts as a simple idea somehow turns into an entire enclosed trailer full of totes, supplies, prizes, snacks, equipment, and all the little extras that help make the week run smoothly.

Did you know that access to the negative scanner is included with your Creative Women's Week registration? ❤️

Some attendees bring a handful of negatives to scan.

Others show up with boxes.

And I mean BOXES. 😂

I've seen ladies bring thousands of negatives and spend a couple of days rapidly digitizing years of memories that have been tucked away in drawers, albums, and storage bins.

There is something incredibly special about watching old family photos, vacations, childhood memories, and moments from decades ago come back to life in digital form.

It's one more way to preserve your stories while enjoying time with friends and working on your creative projects.

And the best part?

Bringing your negatives to a Creative Women's Week event can save you a significant amount of money. Those ladies that bring boxes are saving the price of their full registration of the event!!

I think I may have found my favorite retreat venue. ❤️

The funny thing is, I had absolutely no idea how much I was going to love it until I spent a week there.

I've stayed at a lot of venues over the years, but this one was different. I also host at six venues through Canada and so far, this one is the best I have experienced.

The service was unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life.

In fact, I cried three times during the first hour I was there because I was so overwhelmed by how genuinely cared for and supported I felt. The staff anticipated needs before they were even voiced. Every interaction was kind, thoughtful, and professional.

The venue itself was spotless and beautifully maintained.

The lighting was excellent.

Every room had its own private bathroom.

The setting was absolutely stunning, right on the lake with beautiful views everywhere you looked.

And then there was the food.

Oh my goodness, the food. 😍

Fresh, plentiful, beautifully prepared, and consistently excellent. Every meal felt like something to look forward to.

Want to know how much I loved it?

I rebooked for the following year on Day One. 😂 I actually think it was the first hour. I just knew.

Day. One.

Before the week was even over, I knew.

Manhattan Beach Retreat Centre has my heart.

My full heart. ❤️

If I could somehow pack up the venue and the staff and bring them with me to every Creative Women's Week event across Canada, I would.

Some places simply get it.

This one does.

It isn't just a venue. It's an experience.

There is a moment I get to witness at every Creative Women's Week event that never gets old. ❤️

A woman walks through the doors, finds her table, looks around the room, and you can almost see it happen.

She exhales.

The stress of work, family responsibilities, errands, deadlines, and everyday life starts to melt away.

For the next few days, there is nowhere she needs to be.

Nothing she needs to cook.

No laundry waiting.

No endless to-do list.

Just creativity, friendship, laughter, and time for herself.

Some women get emotional.

Some look excited, some look relieved.

Some immediately start unpacking.

Some walk around the room smiling.

Some behaved shocked at the snack and prize tables.

Some hug friends they haven't seen since the last retreat.

But almost all of them have the same look on their face...

Contentment.

And that is one of my favorite parts of every event. ❤️
