This was a pretty cool repair. Lightsaber was pretty high quality and was fun fixing it up. I get some interesting collectibles and toys that make it my way.

Hey everyone, got a couple more items listed on my personal page. Lots more to come eventually!

Been a bit quiet on here but no shortage of work. Got a large queue and just trying to get through it all. Lots of phone jobs lately which I’m super happy about, that side has been really busy. Got a few odd tech jobs in the mix too that are taking quite a bit of time, but learning a lot from them.

Stay tuned, more listings coming!

First iPhone screen replacement at DMac and it was anything but easy. This phone came in after being driven over and dropped, resulting in some seriously heavy damage. Took hours of careful work to get it done right. First replacement screen came in defective, sourced a second and got it sorted. End result is a fully functional phone back in the customer’s hands. Every job teaches something new and today we added iPhone screen replacement to the DMac skill set.

Had two Steam Decks come in not booting properly and no display issues.

Both were stuck in failed installs/boot ups with corrupted system partitions. One wouldn’t display properly at all due to bios issues.

Got them fully reset, rebuilt the OS, fixed the display issue by reseting bios, and cleaned them out while I had them open.

Both running like new now

If your Steam Deck is having display or OS issues throw me a message! As lots of steam display issues are bios related! I also do other handhelds and devices.

Another couple Game Boy Color builds done and already spoken for

• IPS and OLED screen upgrades
• USB-C rechargeable battery setups
• Fully cleaned, rebuilt, and dialed in

These ones didn’t last long. The difference from stock is honestly night and day… way brighter, way cleaner, and no more AA batteries.

Got more builds in progress soon, plus custom options if you want something specific.

🚨 OG Xbox owners — this one’s for you.
Brought in an OG Xbox that wouldn’t power on. No obvious damage, no burnt smell, nothing dramatic. Just dead.
After some digging, found it — a nearly invisible corroded trace right near the power button circuit. You’d never spot it at a glance.
The culprit? The clock capacitor. This little component is a ticking time bomb in original Xbox consoles. When it goes, it leaks, corrodes your board, and kills traces so subtle you’d never know until it’s too late.
Removed the cap after this, cleaned up the corrosion, ran a jumper wire to bridge the damaged trace — and just like that, she’s back up and running XBMC like nothing happened. 🎮

⚠️ If you own an OG Xbox, please read this:
The clock capacitor WILL fail eventually. It’s not a matter of if — it’s when. And by the time you see damage, it may already be serious.
Bring it in to DMac Tech & Repair and we’ll remove it before it takes out your board. Prevention is way cheaper than a repair — and some boards can’t be saved at all.
Don’t wait until it’s dead. 🔧

Got a couple old VHS tapes transferred to USB today.

These were family videos that hadn’t been watched in years. Tapes don’t last forever and quality can slowly degrade, so getting them digitized is a solid way to keep those memories safe.

Ran them through the capture setup, cleaned things up a bit, and put everything onto USB drives so they can be easily watched on a computer or TV.

If you’ve got old tapes sitting around, now’s a good time to get them converted before they get worse or stop working altogether.
