Project 2nd Life

Project 2nd Life I repurpose, upcycle or create new treasures from old ones, whether they be broken or just past their prime. I share projects I've worked on and inspo too.

I believe we don't need to buy much "new" and we can buy most things 2nd hand.

I love recycling! Doing it right is very important, so I really appreciate this map at the Quinn St. Recycling Centre. I don't know if it's new or I just never noticed it before, but a worker pointed it out today when I asked where the flexible plastic bin was.

Today, I was at Homespun Refillery here in Prince George and I was blown away. It is so awesome to have such a great resource for local, handmade, and sustainable goods here. I was also pleasantly surprised by how busy it was in January. Here are a *few* pics of some stuff available. Today, I bought a reusable toothbrush and sustainable toothpaste to try.

I was lucky enough to visit the REAPS (Recycling & Environmental Action Planning Society) office today and I saw all these lovely recycled and natural Christmas decorations. These trees made from plastic bottles are very impressive. Terri can give you more details about this doll. But I remember something about a can and hosiery.

My favorite is upcycled mismatched socks into gnomes!

November 15 is National Recycling Day — and here in Prince George your gently used items don’t just get a second chance, they become a force for good.

At Hospice Thrift Shop we believe that old books, clothing, décor and housewares don’t belong in the landfill. They belong back into your home—or someone else’s—with new purpose and meaning.

When you donate, shop or volunteer with us you’re not just giving something away. You’re helping support palliative care in our community and reducing waste at the same time.

Drop off your items today or visit one of our two thrift locations in Prince George. Let’s make reuse the rule and recycling the routine.
