What a day! We visited Les Trois Pignons and then met with BettyAnn Cormier and her husband Roland and got to see ‘la sale des hookeuses’ which was so inspiring!

I think this author, John Kump, explains my frustrations with the use of AI in art very well. I recommend the 6min read, but here's s snippet:
"AI can replicate creative output. It can produce things that look, sound, and read like things a human made. What it can’t replicate is the moment a human being made another human being feel like creating was safe and worthwhile. That moment is where creativity actually lives, and no model is going to generate it.

I worry sometimes that we’re so dazzled by the output — the speed, the volume, the technical quality — that we forget where the whole thing starts. It doesn’t start with a prompt. It starts with a person. Usually a person who loved you. Usually a person who just paid attention."

I’m sure all the classes were great but my students were the best 😁👏 some came to class never having punched before , some came with patterns , others designed their own , some made it up as they went. But they all produced beautiful work 🫶💕 (it was a pick your own project course)

My first visit to the rug hooking museum of North America! So much creativity and talent in one building… funny thing when we arrived the power had gone out and it was completely dark inside. Luckily it came back and we got to visit.

What a special day it was for me to get to lead such a creative and talented group of punch needle artists (including Amy Oxford !) through a day of creative play and design and listen to the joy and excitement that was shared 🥰 - and some really fun designs were created!!

So excited to share that Annie Longchamps is my first certification student to complete all her training and homework and is now officially an Oxford Certified Instructor! 🎉🥳🙌☺️. She will make a wonderful teacher! Bravo Annie 🤩
