It's been a while - and as always it's because there's lots on the go. With one singular focus over the last few weeks - Dungeon Kats! An illustration project started a while ago, has been live on Kickstarter these past few weeks. 12 iconic D&D classes transformed into feline heroes of old!

Funded in about a week, we are now down to the last 36 hours, with 4 unlocked new characters and a Kickstarter exclusive version of the Wizard cat, we are steps away from unlocking the next exclusive illustration. If this project does well enough then we move into developing the RPG from which we've conceived these adventurers.

We've been away for quite some time, we know. That just means there will be so much more to share now that we're back!

But maybe it's best to start things off slow, and on the more comedic side of things? A little fan art can't hurt, can it ?

Big Fantasy Friday announcement - it's finally time to let the cat out of the closet!

The journey begins as 12 Classic D&D classes re-imagined as cats are coming to Kickstarter early October. It's a pleasure to be helping to bring these feline adventurers to life as they venture on a quest to help produce an indie rpg.

Welcome! You'll find here regular updates and information, illustrations and sketches - all to share with you the journey of creating the Dungeon Kats, and how they can help fund the making of an indie RPG.

The goal: through a successful Kickstarter for an illustrated postcard series, I want to raise enough funds to pay a writer and a designer, so that together the three of us can bring to life the indie RPG I've been developing for the last few years.

The why: I'm great at art, and I've worked on some awesome projects - Magic the Gathering, D&D 5e, Pathfinder, John Carter of Mars, Star Trek, and many others. But my writing and design skills aren't at the same level, and I frankly don't have the time to do it all. I need some help!

The how: it all comes down to having the right resources, and in this case, that comes easiest when you have a budget. I'll of course in part invest my own personally money, but a good rpg needs some good people, and to guarantee this, I need to pay a good wage. And that's what I need your help to do!

The call to action! Please back, like, share and help spread the word far and wide! The more people who hear about this Dungeon Kats Kickstarter the closer we get to the rpg becoming a reality. I wanted to find a way to put my skills to good use, so please help me make this a success!

That's it! Coming down to the last 6 hours, Emberwind has smashed several stretch goals and is over 200% funded! We are excited to be working on this awesome ttrpg from a local Toronto creator, and want to see them smash past this last stretch goal - it's oh so close!

And we're into the last 48 hrs! Or nearly so ... what a great way to ring in Fantasy Fridays!

So here's the latest foe piece and lore for Emberwind - the HYDROSNAIL! Wicked fun to bring to life, and of course to play - take a look at the foe's stats.

Fashioned after Ryan Green's handle, he's the co-host of Geek and Sundry's Loremasters series, who had the chance to interview Derek, creator behind Emberwind.

Another Fantasy Friday addition to the Vulcan bestiary with this rendition of the slaughterhouse for Emberwind and Nomnivore games.

A deadly whirling cloud of miasma tainted slaughter fish make short work of any airship. Was great to collab on making this foe come to life, and as always for the awesome graphic design and treatment by Mathias Semman.

We are counting down to the end for this wondrous new addition to the family that is table top rpgs!
Funded in the first week, the 500+ backers have already helped to unlock several stretch goals and some social ones too.

Here are the more traditional feeling treatments for the rootbloom artwork - these versions are used as part of the Emberwind game for lore pieces. Though it's nice that one of these includes a slightly reworked version of the original sketch that inspired the creation of the foe.

Again, the KS campaign went live earlier today - and great news, the game is steps away from 10K! Go check it out!
