The 2025 Lunarpunk is the latest issue in The Punk Universe two ounce format series, following Solarpunk, Silkpunk and Dieselpunk. Struck in ultra high relief from 99.9% pure silver, it impresses with its exceptional artistry and advanced minting techniques.

The reverse depicts a futuristic vision of the world in the Lunarpunk aesthetic – full of nocturnal energy, cool tones and organic, technologically advanced architecture. At the center of the composition is a meditative figure surrounded by a multi-level city with a mesmerizing, almost space-like character.

The ultra-high relief gives the coin impressive depth and realism, highlighting every detail of the design. Vibrant colors achieved through UV printing, combined with a fluorescent effect, reveal additional elements under ultraviolet light.

The obverse features the Niue coat of arms with the inscriptions “NIUE 2025 5 DOLLARS AG 999,” indicating the issuer, year of issue, and silver purity, all set within a modern geometric pattern.

The coin is distinguished by its limited mintage of only 400 pieces worldwide!

Cyberpunk backstory:

The word cyberpunk reflects a sub-genre of science fiction and is characterized by describing a high-tech future in which humans coexist with cyborgs in a virtual reality.

The future in cyberpunk is pessimistic, dark, full of moral destruction, where the advanced technology usually causes more harm than good. Such dystopian image of society is well-described as ‘high tech & low life’.

This genre is also often described by the three concepts – City, Mass, Machine. Action of books, movies or games usually takes place in huge, overcrowded metropolis, where technology has demoralized people by destroying relations between them.
