This picture was taken in 2008 during one of our more memorable trips to India during the Dec-Jan holiday season!
On a whim, we decided to visit Manali-a high altitude Himalayan resort town which we had always wanted to see. We booked a cottage there through some friends. When we arrived we discovered it came unheated!!
There was no easy access to weather conditions in those days. No Google to click on. Hard to believe.
The town was buried in snow and busloads of Indian tourists were arriving to ski.
We stayed there only 1 day and very cold night-most of which was spent in this cozy, warm restaurant called the Copper Chimney.
We spent the evening there chatting with the locals, eating great food & basking in the great atmosphere. Precious memories!
