As promised, here are five tips on how to develop better habits (according to healthline.com):

1️⃣ Identify your triggers. Let’s say you want to stop staying up past midnight. After a few days of tracking your behavior, you realize you tend to stay up later if you start watching TV or chatting with friends after dinner. But you go to bed earlier if you read or take a walk.

2️⃣ Know your WHY: Research suggests it may be easier to change your behavior when the change you want to make is valuable or beneficial to you.

3️⃣ If you and a friend or partner both want to break an unwanted habit, try to do it together.

4️⃣ You might have an easier time breaking a habit if you replace the unwanted behavior with a new behavior, instead of simply trying to stop the unwanted behavior.

5️⃣ Use sticky notes or other reminders wherever the habit behavior happens to help you rethink the action when something triggers you.

More tips to come in the future.

Which is your favourite tip from the above?

It’s hard to break bad habits and some tips on how to do that are coming in my next post.
🌙
Let’s understand how habits are formed first. According to healthline.com, the 3 ‘R’s dictate how we develop habits:
1️⃣Reminder. This is a trigger, or cue, that could be a conscious behavior, such as flushing the toilet, or a feeling, such as nervousness.
2️⃣Routine. This is the behavior associated with the trigger. Flushing the toilet cues you to wash your hands, while feeling nervous triggers biting your nails. Doing something over and over can make the behavior routine.
3️⃣Reward. The reward associated with a behavior also helps make a habit stick. If you do something that causes enjoyment or relieves distress, the pleasurable release of dopamine in your brain can make you want to do it again.

What are some words people can use to describe YOU when you are not around?

Is it pretty? Good looking? Tall one? Short one?

Let’s shift the focus from the external attributes to the internal ones.

Let’s stop referring to girls as the ‘pretty one’ and start referring to them as the ‘talented one’.

Let’s stop referring to boys as ‘the one with the sports car’ and change it to ‘the one who tells the truth.’

Nice. Talented. Kind hearted.
Loving. Loyal. Confident.
Smart. Truthful. Fun.
So on...you catch my drift.

These are the attributes that have a lasting impact on people around us as well as on our own personality.

Let’s start highlighting these qualities in people and help build a culture where internal attributes shine brighter than the external ones.

This is what I would like to be described as friendly and talented.
😊
What about you?

Do you feel like time is just slipping away?
-
Days turning into weeks and months too fast?
-
I feel you.
-
I suffer from the same dreaded feeling from time to time.
-
Here are some tips on daily time management that have helped me recently:

📌 Plan out your day the night before. Writing it out as best you can, just grab a price of paper and jot down the things. Waiting to buy the perfect planner will only delay the progress! If you don’t want to write it out just think of a plan in your head to start with.
📌Embrace rituals-stretch after waking up, make your bed, drink coffee/tea at the same time everyday.
📌Use time management tech-I have a habit of putting alarms on for example for time sensitive tasks.
📌Don’t be afraid of lists! Lists are my best friends-at work or at home and the feeling you get when you check off a task is so rewarding!
📌Stick to the planned time for a task. Stop once you reach that. This will help you stay on schedule.
📌Put everything in the schedule-even personal time! If you don’t schedule a break for yourself, guess what will get skipped? Everything else will get done except your break.
📌Visit the scheduled few times during the day to asses how well you are sticking to it!
📌Give yourself a pat on the back. You are doing great!

Tell me in the comments if I am right about the following👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

You know that fighting isn’t always good. But in the heat of the moment you forget that fighting will rarely solve anything for you esp in a relationship.
-
-
-
I am here to remind you: when someone does one thing wrong, don’t forget all the things they have ever done right.
-
-
-
Let’s give people a chance (rap those we love).
-
-
-
Wouldn’t you want them to do the same for you?
-
🤷🏻‍♀️
Save this post for future reference and don’t forget to share it with your friends. We can all use this reminder from time to time.
