A huge thank you to the organizations who continue to book private workshops with Métis Matriarch. It means so much to share space, create, and continue passing on skills in meaningful ways.

So excited for tomorrow as participants will be creating Leather Regalia Belts, facilitated by the incredibly talented Maranda Gladue.

And for those interested, stay tuned! A community class is coming this August, where you’ll have the opportunity to design and create your own leather regalia belt. I will also start to create leather belt kits so that you may create your own. #

•Jingle cones (coloured ones will be here next week)
•The incredible scents from Mother Earth Essentials
•Kokom scarves (including some of her beautiful newly released designs)
•Ribbon denim jackets
•Metis sashes and fire bags
And… I now have Fat Quarters and new Kona Jelly Rolls.

I absolutely love being able to continue bringing authentic, beautiful products and creative supplies into our community. Thank you for continuing to support this little dream of mine.

In honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day (Sunday, June 21st), I wanted to create space in a way that feels meaningful by offering a free class rooted in connection, culture, and community whereby you will create your own beaded lanyard. And yasss there will be fry doughs, aunty laughs and tea! The free workshop is first come first serve and has limited seating so arrive early.

Lac La Biche is unique in that it is situated on the traditional lands of three Treaty territories, Treaty 6 Territory, Treaty 8 Territory, and Treaty 10 Territory while also being the Homeland of the Métis.

This day is an opportunity to celebrate the beauty, strength, and diversity of Indigenous Peoples, and I hope this offering creates space for learning, sharing, and honouring the cultures that have always been rooted here.

Kinanaskomitin to everyone who has taken the time to share feedback after visiting the store. It truly means so much.

I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people, hearing your stories, sharing laughs, and creating connections along the way. Grateful for every person who walks through the doors of Métis Matriarch, your support means everything for my small Indigenous owned & operated store.

Finished this adorable 19-piece commission for Gift Lake Headstart and my heart is so full.

I absolutely love seeing our youth proudly represent their culture. From jigging with them to now having the honour of creating outfits for them… moments like this remind me why I love doing what I do.

Seeing culture carried forward in our youth will always be one of the sweetest things. So incredibly cute and meaningful 🧡✨.

Three months. 🥹

It’s hard to believe that Métis Matriarch has been open for three months already. What started as a dream has continued to grow, evolve, and expand in ways I never imagined. There have been long days, lots of learning, countless conversations, and so much gratitude.

I’m proud of being able to carry and support incredible Indigenous owned brands and designers, including:

✨B. Yellowtail
✨Lesley Hampton
✨Awasis Boutique
✨Mother Earth Essentials
✨Kokum Scrunchies
✨Eversick Clothing
✨Section 35
✨Double Deadly
✨49Dzine

And soon, I’m excited to welcome:

✨Decolonial Clothing
✨Tammy Beauvais Designs

Kinanâskomitin to everyone who has walked through the doors, shared kind words, made a purchase, attended a workshop, recommended the store, or simply cheered me on. Your support means more than you know.
