🔥 THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A “DYSFUNCTIONAL” NERVOUS SYSTEM.

Your nervous system isn’t malfunctioning because you’re anxious, overwhelmed, shut down, exhausted, reactive or constantly on edge.

It may actually be doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Your nervous system is constantly taking in information and asking:

“Am I safe here?”

And that information is EVERYTHING.

Your workload.
Your relationships.
Your thoughts and beliefs.
Your environment.
Your sleep.
Your boundaries.
Your nutrition.
Your past experiences.
The pressure you put on yourself.
The pace at which you’re living.

All of it is stimulus.

And this is the piece I think we’re missing in so many conversations about nervous system regulation:

🔥 You can’t deep-breathe your way out of a life that’s continually giving your nervous system signals of threat, pressure or depletion.

Breathing, meditation, grounding, yoga, humming, vagus nerve exercises — these can all be incredible tools.

But we can collect 47 nervous-system “techniques” and still feel awful if we never ask:

WHAT IS MY NERVOUS SYSTEM RESPONDING TO?

Maybe you need more rest.
More nourishment.
Better boundaries.
Less pressure.
A different pace.
A difficult conversation.
More support.
Or to stop saying YES when your entire being is screaming NO.

Regulation isn’t just about learning how to calm the alarm.

It’s about looking for the smoke. 🔥

So instead of always asking:

“How do I make my nervous system stop doing this?”

Try asking:

“What is my nervous system responding to — and what needs to change?”

Your nervous system isn’t your enemy.

It’s information.

Listen to it. Work WITH it. ❤️

TRY NEW THINGS. Seriously!!! 🔥

Today I tried about SEVEN new things.

They were guns. 🔫😂

And it was the absolute MOST FUN EVER.

Was I nervous? YES.
Did I wonder what the hell I was doing? Also yes. 😂
Did I go alone? ALSO YES. (But I made friends!)
Did I want to do it anyway? HELL YES.

As adults, I think we forget how important it is to put ourselves in situations where we’re a beginner.

Where our nervous system goes, “ummm… are we sure about this?!” 😳

Trying new things keeps us ALIVE — and reminds us we’re alive. It expands our world, builds confidence, and sometimes introduces us to something we absolutely LOVE.

And as an aside… today was also a fabulous day of shattering gender stereotypes. 😂👏

Well done, Milverton Rod + Gun Club!

The men cooked, did the dishes, taught and paparazzi-ed. 📸😂

The women?

We ate, laughed and shot guns all day. 🔥

10/10. 💯

I left SO grateful — and reminded that feeling nervous doesn’t always mean don’t do it.

Sometimes it means:

This is new. Pay attention. Regulate. And go see what you’re capable of. ❤️

And now I REALLY want to take a group of ladies to do this — with a little “Katie style” spin. 😉

We’ll unpack how socialization affects women, learn some nervous system tools to work WITH those nervous jitters…

And then?

WE SHOOT. 😂🔥

Trying something new. Doing something a little scary. Building confidence through EXPERIENCE. And having an absolute freaking blast.

Who wants to come?! 🙋‍♀️🔥

We got home from the cottage tonight after SUCH an amazing week away. ❤️

Me, Ruby + her bestie. So much laughing. Swimming. Exploring. Paddle boarding. Hanging out. Just… FUN.

And the place we stayed had no WiFi 😳

Every morning I’d walk over to the main lodge, connect for a few minutes so I could check in with my family, and then… that was pretty much it.

No scrolling.
No checking what everyone else was doing.
No seeing what I “should” be doing.
No constant stream of other people’s lives coming at me.

For an entire WEEK 🤯

And I didn’t really realize what that had done for my brain until I got home tonight and opened social media again.

Almost immediately, I could feel it. The…

Oh s**t, I’m behind.

I should have been posting.

I should have been doing this…

I haven’t done that…

And then, of course, the comparison.

It was actually kind of shocking.

Because I think most of us KNOW social media can affect us, of course. And I genuinely thought I was pretty aware of how I used it and how it influenced me.

But apparently you don’t always realize how much noise something is creating until the noise stops for a while…

And WOWZAS.

I realize now, comparison is in our faces ALL. DAY. LONG.

Other people’s businesses.
Bodies.
Homes.
Relationships.
Vacations.
Parenting.
Success.
Productivity.
Lives.

And even when we consciously know we’re looking at tiny, curated pieces of someone else’s reality… our brains are still taking it all in.

Social media can be AMAZING. It connects us! It teaches us. It gives us community, inspiration and access to people and ideas we never would have found otherwise ⭐️

But I think we also need to be really conscious of how we feel when we’re using it.

Does it inspire you?

Or does it quietly make you feel behind?

Does it connect you?

Or does it make you look at your perfectly good life and suddenly feel like it should be different?

Because I can tell you this…

For a week, I wasn’t behind on anything.

I was just living my life. ❤️

And maybe that’s something worth remembering when we pick our phones back up.

Maybe the goal isn’t to keep up with everyone else’s life — it’s to stay deeply connected to our own. ❤️✨

✨ Friday Challenge ✨

When was the last time you softened into your body…

…and asked it what it wanted?

Not what you wanted to do to it.
Not what your workout plan said.
Not what your watch, your app, or your calendar told you.

But your body.

Today, I invite you to try something different.

🌿 Roll out your yoga mat.
🌿 Lie down and let your body soften.
🌿 Take a few slow breaths.

Then simply ask:

“Body… how would you like to move?”

When a movement comes, follow it.

Maybe it’s a stretch.
Maybe it’s a twist.
Maybe it’s curling into a ball.
Maybe it’s reaching long through your arms.
Maybe it’s… absolutely nothing.

Stay there for as long as your body wants.

Then ask again:

“What’s next?”

Repeat this conversation until your body tells you it’s finished.

When you’re done, take a moment to notice…

✨ Has any tension melted away?
✨ Is there less bracing in your body?
✨ Do you notice new sensations?
✨ Do you feel calmer?
✨ More connected?
✨ Did your body teach you anything today?

So much of our lives are spent telling our bodies what to do.

Sometimes the most healing thing we can do… is finally listen.

💜 P.S. If you lie down and nothing comes, that’s okay too.

Don’t force it.

Just rest.

No pressure.
No expectations.
No agenda.

Simply lie there and listen.

Your body has been speaking to you your whole life.

Maybe today is the day you hear it…

Also, this hat 😍 it’s a movement **t

I was just talking to another client today about the difference between the Radiant Girl Collective and the Radiant Woman Collective… and it made me laugh. 😂❤️

The Radiant Girl Collective exists to teach girls (ages 9–16) alllllllll the good stuff so many of us were never taught growing up. 🌸

✨ to believe in themselves.
✨ to trust their inner voice.
✨ to navigate friendships with confidence.
✨ to understand and regulate their emotions.
✨ to build resilience when life gets hard.
✨ to stay true to themselves, even when it’s difficult.
✨ to care for their minds, bodies, and nervous systems.
✨ to know, deep in their bones, that they are enough exactly as they are 💞

The Radiant Woman Collective… well… teaches us grown women how to lovingly unf**k ourselves from not being taught those things in the first place!! 🤣❤️

How many of us are spending our 30s, 40s, 50s (and beyond) learning to:
• Set boundaries.
• Trust ourselves.
• Calm our nervous systems.
• Stop people-pleasing.
• Speak kindly to ourselves.
• Believe we’re worthy without having to earn it…

Imagine if we’d learned those skills at 9, 10, 12, 14, or 16 instead of 40 or 50!!

That’s why I’m so passionate about both communities 🌸⭐️

One helps girls build those foundations from the very beginning.

The other reminds women that it’s never too late to build them now….

So, here’s my invitation…

💜 If you have a daughter, granddaughter, niece, or a special girl in your life between 9–16, give her the gift of the Radiant Girl Collective. These are life skills she’ll carry forever.

💜 And if you’re a woman who’s ready to feel calmer, stronger, healthier, and more like you again, come join us in the Radiant Woman Collective.

Because it’s never too early…
…and it’s never too late✨

Never underestimate the power of knowledge, community, and women lifting one another up. That’s how we change the world—one radiant girl, and one radiant woman, at a time. 🌎❤️

08/02/2026

One of the biggest misconceptions I see in the nervous system world is this:

That every uncomfortable feeling needs to be regulated away.

Sometimes… it does.

And sometimes?

Your nervous system isn’t the problem.

Sometimes it’s pointing to something else .. something incredibly important, not to be explained away.

Your body might be telling you:

✨ This relationship isn’t healthy.
✨ This job is burning you out.
✨ This boundary needs to be set.
✨ This version of your life no longer fits who you’re becoming.

I don’t believe the goal of nervous system work is to become so regulated that we can tolerate situations that are harming us - and I hate that people teach this.

✨I believe it’s about becoming regulated enough to hear our own wisdom✨

Because there’s a big difference!

Your nervous system should help you respond to life with clarity…

Not convince you to stay somewhere your soul has already outgrown ❤️

That being said, I also think it’s important not to assume every uncomfortable feeling is a sign to make a dramatic life change.

Sometimes anxiety is an old survival pattern.

Sometimes it’s wisdom.

Part of healing -and what I teach people how to do - is learning to tell the difference.

And that’s the work I love most 🤩

Not just helping people feel calmer…

But helping them reconnect with themselves, so they know when to stay, when to leave, when to rest, when to speak up, and when to trust the quiet voice inside that has been there all along 🌸

Because healing isn’t about ignoring your body, or listening to every single thing it says - it’s about finally learning its language 💜

(Pic is of me, standing in an air bnb last month .. I stood at this very spot, working on my book, for 7 hrs straight!! And I can’t wait to share it with you!!!!)

There’s something about a bike ride. 🚲💜

Some of the very best conversations Ruby and I have happen side by side, pedalling down a trail.

No pressure.
No eye contact required.
Just space to talk.

Lately we’ve talked about integrity—how hard it can be to stay true to yourself when everyone else seems to be doing something different…

We’ve talked about confidence, trusting your gut, and learning to speak up.

And most recently, we’ve been talking about something every parent wishes they didn’t have to think about: how to navigate being a teenage girl in a world that isn’t always safe.

How to recognize red flags.
How to protect yourself online and in person.
How to trust your intuition.
How to assert your energy.
How to stay safe without living in fear.

These are big conversations… and they’re conversations our girls need.

They’re also exactly the kinds of life skills we teach in The Radiant Girl Collective. ✨

This isn’t just about confidence. It’s about giving girls practical tools to navigate the real world with wisdom, courage, and self-trust.

And I’m so excited to share that we’re already 1/3 full… and registration only opened last week! 🥳

If you have a tween or teen daughter who could benefit from learning these kinds of skills (and so much more), check out the link in my bio. I’d love to welcome her into this beautiful community. 💜

There seems to be this unspoken belief that if you work in health and wellness, you should always have it together..

Always calm.
Always healthy.
Always positive.
Always thriving.

I don’t believe that.

I don’t think we’re here to *perform* health-

I think we’re here to live life ⭐️💫

I’ve spent over 20 years studying holistic health, and if there’s one thing I’ve become absolutely certain of, it’s this:

The greatest predictor of health isn’t perfection,

It’s your capacity to *move through life* with all its twists and turns ….

To experience stress without staying stuck in it.
To feel grief without losing yourself.
To meet anxiety with understanding instead of shame.
To experience joy without waiting until everything is “fixed.”
To reconnect with yourself, over and over again.

That’s why the work I do isn’t about pretending to be healed.

It’s about becoming more resilient, more connected, more alive.

Ironically, after two decades of studying nutrition, movement, supplements, hormones, and holistic wellness, this work—the nervous system, self-awareness, connection, emotional health, and learning how to feel safe in your own body—has had the biggest impact on every area of health I’ve ever seen.

Physical.
Mental.
Emotional.
Spiritual.

Not because it makes life perfect…

But because it gives you the capacity to fully live it ✨

You don’t have to show up whole before you begin - Sometimes (more often than not), the very act of showing up is what helps you become well 🌸
