We have been made aware of an incident involving an individual claiming to be a Rogers employee canvassing the area for new customers. According to reports, this person was not wearing Rogers-branded clothing and attempted to enter a home without knocking.
While this situation is concerning, we want to provide some clarity:
Rogers does have a legitimate sales team called Field Sales, who operate door-to-door. These agents typically know which homes already have Rogers services, but there can be instances where their tools are not used effectively. In the past, Field Sales agents were local—many of you may remember Jeff Gilliam or, more recently, Mark Stone. Recently, however, agents from St. John’s have been canvassing the area for a few weeks at a time.
Field Sales agents do not use Rogers-branded vehicles and often park further away while they walk door-to-door. However, they should always wear Rogers-branded clothing and carry a business card to confirm their identity.
If you’re ever unsure whether someone at your door is legitimately a Rogers employee, we recommend calling the local Rogers store at (709) 634-5558. Please provide the name of the person at your door, and we can confirm their status as a Rogers employee.
