The unicorns still exist. ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ”ฅ

This original Mushroom Strat by Shino is one of the rarest and most mysterious pieces to ever come out of the golden era of Japanese guitar craftsmanship. Built at the legendary Paco factory, these guitars almost never surface โ€” and when they do, they disappear fast into serious collections.

From the deep black finish to the wild tortoise shell guard, this thing looks like it walked straight out of a late-night Tokyo session in 1979. Vintage vibe. Handmade soul. Pure MIJ magic.

The neck feels unreal, the resonance is alive, and the craftsmanship reminds you why Japan quietly built some of the finest instruments on earth.

Not just a guitar.
A piece of underground guitar history.

NGD! Not all Japanese Les Pauls are copies.
Some are statements.

This 2003 History Dignity Black Beauty is one of the finest examples of early-2000s Japanese craftsmanship weโ€™ve had through the shop. Built for the Japanese domestic market, these guitars were designed to compete directly with high-end American instruments โ€” and honestly, they succeeded.

Ebony finish.
Elegant binding.
Massive block inlays.
Classic LP Custom attitude with unmistakable MIJ precision.

The fit and finish on these old History guitars is absolutely unreal. Smooth fretwork, resonant body, comfortable neck, and that unmistakable โ€œaliveโ€ feel the best Japanese guitars seem to have.

History remains one of the most underrated names in the MIJ rabbit holeโ€ฆ but collectors are starting to catch on.

A serious sleeper.
A serious player.
And getting harder to find every year.

1980 Tokai LC60 WR ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต

A true Japanese vintage gem.
Near mint condition, all original, and barely played โ€” this one has lived its life as a true case queen. No fret wear, deep wine red finish, and that unmistakable early Tokai craftsmanship that made these legendary.

Built during the golden era of Japanese guitar production when Tokai was giving the big American brands serious competition. Lightweight, resonant, and absolutely dripping with vintage vibe.

These clean examples are getting harder and harder to findโ€ฆ especially untouched survivors like this.

Case candy preserved.
Time capsule condition.
46 years old and still stunning.

NGD! The Killer Wishbone V. Some guitars are rare.
Some guitars are weird.
And then there are the ones that feel like they came from another universe entirely.

This Japanese-built Wishbone V is one of those guitars.

Solid exotic wood body, brass hardware everywhere, tortoise appointments, locking trem, and enough attitude to make most modern guitars look boring. The craftsmanship on this thing is absolutely unreal.

The late โ€˜80s and early โ€˜90s Japanese guitar scene was a rabbit hole of boutique builders creating instruments that rivaled โ€” and often surpassed โ€” the big American brands. This is exactly why we chase these unicorns.

You simply do not see guitars like this anymore.

A true MIJ oddity.
A collector piece.
A weapon.
