Kim M's My Colorful Town quilt is a perfect example of how impactful simple shapes and great colour placement can be.

Made using Tilda's solid fabrics and a free pattern available on Tilda's website, this quilt was a joy for Kim to put together. She loved how clearly the pattern was organized, making the construction feel approachable and enjoyable from start to finish.

What really won her over, though, was seeing it all come together. The colour combinations create so much movement, personality, and charm that the finished quilt completely exceeded her expectations.

A quilt full of happy little houses and even happier colours. 💕 Great work, Kim!

🪴 House Plant BOM Starting July 2026 🪴

When Jamie and Lesley spotted Sue Spargo's House Plant at H+H in person, it was game over! We knew all along we would be bringing this to the shop, but seeing it in person sealed the deal.

At first glance, it's a celebration of lush greenery and cheerful potted plants. But the closer we looked, the more details we discovered—beautiful wool appliqué, rich texture, thoughtful stitching, and all the little embellishments that make Sue Spargo projects so special.

As plant lovers ourselves, we couldn't help but stop and admire it (perhaps more than once 😇).

Starting this July, we'll be stitching our way through House Plant, an 11-month Block of the Month inspired by Sue's Small Studies series. Filled with vibrant colour, playful detail, and plenty of opportunities to explore embroidery stitches.

No watering required. 🌿
