๐ Ramadan Kareem, Mamas ๐ค
As we enter this blessed month of Ramadan, I want to remind every breastfeeding mother reading this:
Allah sees you.
While others may be fasting from food and drink, you are nourishing a soul. While others are standing long in prayer, you may be sitting in the quiet darkness of the night, feeding your baby. While others are reading pages of the Qurโan, you may be whispering Bismillah before latching.
And that, too, is worship.
In Qurโan, Allah reminds us that He does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear (2:286). If you are breastfeeding and unable to fast, know that Islam honors your body, your effort, and your sacrifice. Your exemption is not a weakness... it is mercy.
Through the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ, we learn that actions are judged by intentions. If your intention is to worship Allah while caring for your child, every feed, every burp, every soothing cuddle can carry reward.
This Ramadan may look different for you: โจ You may break your fast early to protect your milk supply.
โจ You may choose not to fast to protect your baby.
โจ You may feel torn between ibadah and motherhood.
But motherhood itself is a form of ibadah.
Let this month be about:
๐ค Gentle faith, not guilt
๐ค Nourishment, not depletion
๐ค Mercy, not pressure
๐ค Barakah in the small, unseen moments
To every mama nursing through suhoor, through tarawih, through tears and growth spurts โ you are doing sacred work.
May this Ramadan fill your home with sakinah, your milk with barakah, and your heart with ease.
Ramadan Kareem ๐
โ With love,
BELLATCH BN ๐ค
