Cacao is for the body, the foam is for the soul ☕
Our story started several years ago, on the rocky, wild coasts of Ireland where Maria was introduced to the wonder of chocolate while staying with a local craft chocolate maker. The love for chocolate and cacao was born and never left ever since. After years of eating bean to bar chocolate and making some at home, Maria, her partner Anton and sist
er Anna (all of them infected with the chocolate excitement) decided to go where cacao lives and learn as much as possible about its magic. We spent months in Grenada, a beautiful Caribbean island, Mexico and Guatemala witnessing and taking part in the whole process of developing chocolate products from the cacao tree to the end product. We were involved in cacao farming projects and participated in a local chocolate academy in Mexico, where a more scientific approach to chocolate was introduced. We studied the plant and the processes involved in working with cacao beans. Being immersed in a whole new world and culture our idea of cacao and chocolate changed completely. What started as a trip to learn about cacao and how to make really good chocolate bars turned into inspiration for different shapes that chocolate can take. The idea for our products was born there, in the jungle of Grenada after a morning cup of drinking chocolate, the way that our neighbour prepares and drinks it. With bold cacao flavour and minimum processing, this shape of chocolate was something we wanted to bring back home. The idea evolved in the south of Mexico where we spent long hours drinking local chocolate and developing our products, again inspired by the local recipes. After travelling in the places where cacao grows and meeting growers we now have even more appreciation for the hard work that stays behind the cacao bean. By working with transparency we hope to create a more direct link between the customers and the story behind a cup of chocolate or a cacao treat. We are happy to be making pure drinking chocolate and healthy cacao snacks in our small cacao roastery close to the mauntains, near Plovdiv, Bulgaria. All our products are crafted with high-quality single-origin cacao beans that we source ethically from growers in Latin America. The beans are roasted in micro-batches to develop the unique flavour of each cacao origin. In our cacao atelier, we roast, crack, winnow and stone-grind the cacao to turn it into a rich and delicious chocolate brew and roasted cacao beans super snack. We believe our cacao story is just in the beginning and everyone is welcome to join it in the making!
