How cool was this commission actually.

I got to make a custom wall piece with a roe deer skull for the band A piece that they can bring along to shows as an eye-catcher. Loved it, because I could fully do my own thing again.

The plate with their logo is made from wood, with the logo burned in. I have a laser machine and I’m ridiculously in love with that thing. The amount of detail and those super fine lines it can handle is insane. To get this effect, the wood was first painted black, and then the top paint layer is lasered away so the natural wood color shows through in those spots. I was also asked to laser their sigil onto a whole bunch of mini wooden discs so they could turn them into buttons, it is so cute!

Hoe graaf was deze opdracht eigenlijk?

Ik mocht een custom wall piece met reebokschedel maken voor de band . Een floral skull wall piece die mee kan naar optreden als eyecatcher. & zo leuk want ik mocht weer helemaal mijn ding doen.

Het plaatje met hun logo is van hout waarbij het logo echt is ingebrand. Ik heb een lasermachine en ik ben d'r echt belachelijk verliefd op. Zoveel detail en zo’n fijne lijnen dat da ding aankan. Voor dit effect te krijgen is het hout eerst zwart geverfd geweest en dan wordt eigenlijk het bovenste verflaagje eraf gelaserd zodat het houtkleur daar weer tevoorschijn komt. Daarnaast kreeg ik ook nog de vraag om hun sigil op een hele hoop mini houten schijfjes te laseren zodat ze er buttons van kon maken.

Dried flowers are very easy company. Give them a nice spot out of harsh sunlight and they’ll keep their rich colours for a long time. They love a calm, dry place where they can hold their shape and just do their thing.

A little gentle dusting now and then, with a soft brush or a cool hairdryer, is all it takes to keep them looking fresh. So, no big care routine. Just a bit of attention and a good place in your home. Easy huuhhh☺️

How to care for dried flowers & floral skull pieces?

These pieces are made with dried and preserved flowers although they’re long lasting natural materials can get small changes in colour over time. A normal process and part of their charm. But here are some tips;

• Keep indoors, away from rain and moisture
• Avoid humid rooms (bathroom = bad idea)
• Choose a spot with not too much direct sunlight
• Handle carefully dried florals are delicate
• Dust gently with a soft brush or cool hairdryer on low

With the right care, your piece can stay more beautiful for years!
