I grew up on my family’s almond and walnut farm in the Northern California town of Chico. In Northern California we call them AM-ENDS because we knock the L out of them! After meeting my husband in college, I made the decision to not move home after graduation as planned and to follow my heart. I married my almond farmer in 2010 and are now starting a farming adventure of our own. Almond farmer's

family has their own farming legacy rooted in Kern County with an extensive crop background. Down in the southern end of the valley, they say ALL-MEND, same nut different pronunciation. We plan to pass on the family tradition to our children as we are expecting a little almond farmer in December! Follow my blog for all our almond updates for what's happening on our farm! Sometimes life is taking a leap of faith and not knowing where or how you are going to land.

You can walk a path for so long and still not know where you are going. It is the unknown and the risk that makes the adventure so much better.

The path forward isn’t always easy.
Sometimes the path is the adventure itself.
Sometimes we need to walk the path to understand it isn’t the right path.
Sometimes while we walk forward, we learn more about the destination than we do when we get there.
Sometimes it’s the experience we needed to guide us to a different path.

Whatever guides you and whatever path you are walking, I hope you find peace in your journey.

It’s a learning experience and I too am learning to have trust in the process.

What a week! 🇺🇸

Washington DC part 1.
This past week I finished up the Transatlantic EU-US young farmers fellowship. We have spent the last 9 months in online seminars, our European trip in April and this week was the culmination of understanding how Europe and U.S. agricultural practices and policy decisions work.

It’s was an amazing opportunity to see how EU and U.S. compare and align on so many different issues.
This week we met with Congressmand GT Thompson, USDA directors, EPA Administrator Ed Messina and staff, Senator Klobuchar, members of the senate and house agriculture committees and had a reception at EU delegation to recognize our fellowship.

The most memorable experience hands down was the relationships and memories made with the other farmers from across the EU and U.S. It truly is the networking and relationships that make an impact to last a lifetime!

What an honor it was to attend the Speciality Crop Roundtable with USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins hosted by our Congressman David Valadao.

Grateful Secretary Rollins took time to come to Bakersfield California, learn about our diverse agriculture and announce a necessary assistance package for those of us specialty crops farmers impacted by elevated input costs and market disruptions.

In the Central Valley we often feel overlooked by our federal government because we don’t fit in the mid western agricultural model, what they call specialty crops is just the right crops for California.

Thank you Secretary Rollins for taking time to come to California.

♥️Side by side or miles apart, you are always close to my heart ♥️

I learned how to be the mother I am today because of the mother you are to me.

She built a life of love, passion, and family that is the center of how I built my family. I am grateful for the example of motherhood you provided and continue to pour out to us. Even from afar, you come to support us and help when we need you extra.

16 years of us! ♥️

No one I would rather adventure with than you. From college life where it all started, to our European adventure this year, to managing the ups and down of farming and raising a family- we are in it together.

For better or worse, richer and poorer, sickness and health- all the days of our lives- you are my forever. 🌳

Part 2 of the EU-US Fellowship we headed to Brussels Belgium.

Meeting with the Director General of Trade, Agriculture committee members of Parliament, Director of Sustainability and the big wow- the European Commissioner for Agriculture Christophe Hansen!

Squeezed in a spirits tasting of some yummy whiskey and bourbon with Spirits Europe.

To wrap up the visit we toured the Part of Rotterdam and rode a ferry through the harbor to see all the ships loading containers.

Honored to meet with such key members of their democracy and make wonderful connections.

Thankful to and of course for the opportunity to represent American farmers.

Spending the week in Europe for the EU-US Fellowship for Young Farmers.

Kicked off the week with farm tours across Netherlands. Common theme was research development and soils health. It was amazing to see such diverse and inspiring people with so much knowledge and passion for agriculture.
