A lovely Dark M**o collab with our friends at Silver Studios Tasmania for these beautiful tintype portraits. Get yours taken too, they’ll be doing pop-ups with our old mates over at Monks & Co during Dark M**o - we wanted to recreate the traditional tintype photo case, exactly how Silver Studios present their portraits too, with a deep burgundy velvet backing and we’ve hand-stained some beautiful FSC beech to charcoal and hand curved those lovely corners ❤️‍🔥

1973, Salamanca, by Tom Samek. As always, ahead of its time — and still very beautiful today.

The silverfish have had a tiny nibble, which honestly feels understandable because it’s pretty delicious-looking. We colour matched the frame to a deep rust red, then softened it with a custom curved-corner profile.

And there was never any question of float mounting — all of that history, wear and provenance deserved to be seen.
