Happy weekend 🌸
prompt — Challenges & Wins

Markets are one of the biggest challenges.

Early mornings.
Packing all the felt things.
Different space every market so setting up from scratch each time.
Weather doing its own thing.
Long days on my feet.

And then going home to mum life—
switching roles without a pause.

It’s a lot to hold.

But the wins?

Seeing little hands reach for something I made.
Watching kids play the way I imagined.
Hearing “this is so beautiful” or “this will make a perfect gift”.

Those moments hit different and that is such a Win.

March Meet the Maker - Currently working
on prompt by

Last minute makes for tomorrow’s market (because apparently I love the thrill of finishing things at the last minute 😅) and a little sneak peek of a new project I’ve been quietly working on…

Still experimenting, still learning, but I’m excited about where this is going.

Should I share more progress as I go?

Why I make? Prompt by

I make because creating with my hands slows the world down.

Growing up, handmade things were always part of life — stitching, sewing, and learning that the simplest materials can become something meaningful. Today, every piece I create continues that tradition.

Each Plushka design begins as a simple idea and slowly comes to life with needle, thread, and wool felt. Nothing is rushed. Every stitch is placed by hand, turning small pieces of felt into tiny treasures made for little hands and big imaginations.

I believe children deserve toys that encourage creativity, open-ended play, and storytelling — the kind of play that doesn’t need screens or batteries. Making by hand is my way of keeping that magic alive.

And knowing that something I stitched in my little studio will be played with, loved, and passed through tiny hands somewhere in the world… that’s the reason I keep creating. 💛

A little reminder inspired by the prompt from that handmade is often trial and error.

Like these cinnamon scrolls — they’re still not in my shop because I’m not 100% happy with them yet. And honestly, I’m not even sure why… they just didn’t make me squeal with joy the way a new design usually does.

It doesn’t happen often, but I had to try this idea, so for now I’ve only made two.

Sketching designs, adjusting patterns (what works on paper doesn’t always translate perfectly into felt), choosing threads, tweaking little details… until everything finally feels right.

That’s the slow, sometimes messy, but very real part of the creative process.
