March Book Club pick is here
This month’s book club read — chosen by our community— is The Elsewhere Express.
It’s about a girl called Raya.
She used to dream about being a songwriter.
Then her brother dies.
And instead of chasing her own life, she quietly starts living his.
(If you’ve ever put your own dreams on hold because life got heavy… you’ll get it.)
One day she’s on the subway — normal, tired, probably in her own head — and suddenly she’s swept onto this mysterious train called the Elsewhere Express.
The train only appears to people whose lives have drifted off course.
On board, there are whimsical carriages and dreamy spaces and a sweet, artistic boy called Q who’s also trying to figure himself out.
But it’s not just cozy vibes.
There’s dark magic.
There’s danger.
And she has to actually face her grief instead of outrunning it.
At its heart, this book is about:
🧡 feeling lost
🧡 carrying grief quietly
🧡 wondering who you are now
🧡 and maybe letting yourself want something again
⚠️ trigger warnings: grief, death of a loved one, emotional trauma, mild fantasy peril, darker magical elements.
