Got so many enquiries about finding teachers for niche instruments like handpan, Native American flute, lyre harp, or sound healing practices, etc., so we finally made a teacher directory section on our website 🧡
We reached out to some of the most established handpan players and teachers we know in Australia, searched online for more established teachers of instruments like Native American flute, lyre harp, and other niche sound-healing instruments, and started building a collection of pages for them.
Here’s the collection link:
https://www.melodicforest.com.au/blogs/find-a-teacher-in-australia
You can find:
• in-person lessons
• online lessons
• workshops
• online courses
• performance content
• learning materials
• or book events with them
This is just what we’ve found so far — we definitely missed some people, and I’m sure there are many more amazing teachers out there we simply haven’t come across yet. So if we missed you and you’d like to be included, feel free to DM us 🙂
This section is completely free. We mainly just want to make it easier for people to find good teachers in one place.
But we do care about teachers who actually have real experience and are genuinely dedicated to the specific instrument they teach.
We’ve seen situations where very skilled general musicians or percussionists buy a handpan and immediately start offering lessons. And while they may be amazing musicians, teaching handpan properly is really its own thing. It takes time, experience, understanding student progression, technique, repertoire, learning methods, etc.
Music lessons are expensive, and students deserve teachers who are genuinely invested in the instrument itself.
So if you are a teacher in this niche space, fit the description above, and we missed you, feel free to reach out 🌿
