This little bookshop isn't backed by a big company or a huge budget. It's running on pure love, determination, caffeine, and the hope that someone will walk through the door and love being here as much as I do.
I am incredibly lucky to have the support of my family and friends. They cheer me on, help where they can, and remind me why I started this journey in the first place.
But if I'm being honest, there are days when the stress creeps in, and Iβm up till 1am. Days when I worry about the future, wonder if I'm doing enough, and get caught up in all the "what ifs."
I also take every bit of feedback to heart. When someone suggests an idea or tells me what they'd love to see, I immediately start thinking about how I can make it happen. Sometimes I stress myself out trying to fit everything in because I genuinely want everyone to have a wonderful experience here. The reality is that sometimes things work beautifully, and sometimes they flop despite my best efforts. That's one of the hardest lessons I'm learning as a small business owner.
The one person who pulls me back into the moment is my daughter. She's full of energy, laughter, chaos, and life. She reminds me to stop worrying about tomorrow and enjoy what's happening right now.
So today, I'm choosing gratitude. Gratitude for every person who has bought a book, shared a post, recommended the shop, stopped in for a chat, or simply believed in me.
This shop is more than a business to me. It's a dream I'm building one day at a time, alongside raising my daughter and figuring things out as I go.
Thank you for supporting not just a local bookshop, but a single mum chasing a dream while trying to juggle everything at once! β€οΈπ
