Fiona's book, I Remember Everything, is the moving account of a young q***r woman living through the start of the AIDS epidemic. Beginning in Bristol and moving to 1980s London, this novel follows Billie, a young q***r woman, as she navigates the highs and lows of life, coming out as q***r, and finding her chosen family, only to lose them again during the AIDS epidemic. Thirty years on, Billie picks up her pen to celebrate the lives of these friends.

Howard's book, This Is Where We Say Goodbye, is a tender and quirky tragicomedy about family ties and unexpected strengths, told over the course of twenty-four hours. The day after Maud Tarkington turns twenty-one, she must attend the funeral of her favourite brother Lloyd. But instead, Maud is ricocheting around the city, looking for signs of life - will she even make it to Lloyd's send-off?

More about The Palace of Lost Virtue:
In 1898, Marigold Harrington arrives on the goldfields of Western Australia with conviction in her heart. The daughter of a prospector and a proud member of the Christian Women's Temperance Union, she dreams of rescuing women the gold rush has forgotten, those trapped in the shadows of brothels and bars.
Across town, Pansy Arlington presides over the Palace of Pleasure, a woman who has built her own small empire from ruin. When Marigold arrives at her door, offering God's forgiveness, she surprises Pansy with unexpected kindness.
Though they come from opposite worlds, the two women spark an unlikely friendship. But, in a rough, lawless town built on greed and desire, their bond will be tested by betrayal, violence and a crime that will echo through the years.
Inspired by true events and the real women of the gold rush, The Palace of Lost Virtue dares to rewrite history books, giving voice to the lives of the formidable women who lived and died in the goldfields.

It was the first monday of the month last night and you know what that means! Our first book club of the month met, and this month we're discussing Evelyn Clarke's publishing expose framed as a murder mystery, The Ending Writes Itself.

While opinions ranged across the group, a lot of people found it enjoyable and easy to read, and were curious about the insights it offered to the issues in the publishing industry and the nature of the arts as a career, and enjoyed the nuanced portrayal of even the most unlikeable characters. Many also found the twists and turns had them second-guessing themselves.

As is tradition, we also announced this month's book club read: Gillian O'Shaughnessy's flash fiction collection, Salt City Runaway. Unsettling, urgent and compelling story telling reveals the profound power of saying more with less in this collection of short short stories. Set across the salt lakes and coastal towns of Western Australia, these stories paint a picture of a life that is luminous despite the dark corners where words and secrets gather.

We hope to see you next month to discuss this collection. Tickets for the first meet on Monday 6th July are available to book in store or at boundlessbooks.com.au.

We were so excited to have in store yesterday to sign this fabulous stack of his books - particularly his newest release, Yeah the Boys!

Yeah the Boys sees the return of Charlie, Zeke and Hammer - our favourite boys from the hit Invisible Boys - seven years after escaping their rural hometown, but things are not as we left them.
Charlie's fighting spirit has faded as he's struggled to make it as a punk musician in Perth. The opening of a new gay bar by Curtis and Ahmed, an older gay couple who have become Charlie's mentors, offers him a different way to make his mark – but the bar's opponents have other ideas.
Zeke is lost. He knows what he stands against – the closeted life and conventional success his strict Italian parents demanded of him – but doesn't know what he stands for. He surprises himself by joining a gay footy team: is it the mistake his friends think it is, or will playing footy finally give him what he's always wanted?
Hammer has it all – fame and fortune as a star football player – or so he thinks. He's still closeted, and can't stand the AFL stuffing diversity initiatives like Pride Round down everyone's throats, especially his. But when he opens his mouth, he ignites a furore that throws all the boys' lives into chaos.
Unapologetic and unforgettable, this is the story of three boys finding their way back to each other, and finding their own ways to become men.

Limited signed copies now available in store! Don't miss out, they're sure to fly off the shelves.

Thanks to our wonderful friends at in celebration of the 2026 Spanish and Latin American Film Festival, we've got a double pass to give away to The Captive - the epic historical adventure following a young Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote, who finds an unexpected refuge in the art of storytelling while imprisoned in 1575 Algiers.

To go in the running to win, simply tell us your favourite Spanish and/or Latin American author. Entries close 5pm Monday 1st June with the winner drawn that evening.

More about the movie:
An ambitious and thrilling historical adventure drama from award-winning director Alejandro Amenábar (While at War, The Sea Inside), starring Julio Peña (Through My Window) and Alessandro Borghi (The Eight Mountains), The Captive is an enthralling tale about the power of stories that cleverly combines truth, history and fiction.

1575, Algiers.
Miguel de Cervantes (Peña), a wounded 28-year-old Spanish Navy soldier and the future author of Don Quixote, is held prisoner by Ottoman corsairs. Faced with a ticking clock, a cruel death awaits him should his fellow countrymen fail to pay his ransom soon. But within the confines of his cell, Cervantes discovers a surprising refuge in the art of storytelling.
Crafted from resilience and hope, his stories enthrall his fellow captives and spark the attention of Hasan (Borghi), the enigmatic and feared Bey of Algiers. With a secret affinity ignited between captor and captive, suspicions begin to rise amidst growing tensions in the city. But, driven by an unwavering sense of optimism, Cervantes devises a daring plan for freedom.

Movie opens from Sunday June 14th
