Diving into as many courses as I possibly can.
Couple weeks ago I attended a flower tower building course with Euka Floral the other week.
Focused on sustainability and teaching us how to go foam free.
The flower towers are made as a team and the flower piece hanging on my front door now is what I created as an arbour piece using a sphagnum moss and wire rather than the traditional foam.

It was great day course that I learnt a lot from. I will be using reusable items where I can but I cant see myself going full foam free.
I applaud anyone who goes all the way and go the full recycled, eco friendly etc but as much as I would love to foam will still have a part in my world.
I certainly like the use of wire and sphagnum moss and I do look forward to using in the future though.

Regarding the now lovely door piece, which yes 2 weeks later is still on my front door looking stunning.
Love natives for the reason, last for so long and can just dry in place.

Last week I started a 20 week evening floristy course with one of Perth's leading florists Mathew Landers!

These my first two bouquets, which im very proud of.
First is compact round bouquet using spiral technique, second is similar just with varied heights in foliage and flowers!
Im absolutely loving the classes and it is a delight learning from the master of flowers.
Mathew is an amazing teacher and just such down to earth guy that I could listen to talk about flowers all day!
The spiralling technique isn't something I had perfected prior to the course so this skill I really wanted to have. Now its in the memory box and im using regularly in my day job!

I feel that you can never stop learning and even though I work as florist already I will get so much more knowledge learning from one of the best in the industry!
Never looked forward to Monday as much as I do now.
Can't wait for next week!

🤪 I should look at a photography course at some point to as the photo skills definitely need improving.

Today close friends said farewell to a much loved family member.
Milly was 17 years old and had an amazing life!
She was my cleaning companion during the years I looked after her home whilst I had my house cleaning business.
Now as a florist I was privileged to be the one to make her memorabilia wreath.
I was very grateful to be able to say my farewell and show her what I created in her honour.

Today she closed her eyes for the last time surrounded by all her family.
The kids now adults that she helped raise.
The grandchildren she had the pleasure of seeing come into this world.
The parents whom she cuddled with every day.
Her life was celebrated and knowing the family nothing would have gone a miss and she would have felt all the love.
Her job in this lifetime was achieved.

Im in love!
Two 50cm wreaths for the funeral of a much loved Kununurra Aboriginal man!
Im very proud to have been given the opportunity to create such beauty using the amazing flowers of our land.
Everything except two flowers are grown native and hand picked from our beautiful Australian lands! Sadly not being the season for Mulla Mulla i couldn't add them in but I hope for another opportunity in the future to use them.

I can create wreaths in any size, style and any flowers and colours!
