πŸ”ΈπŸ”Έ 🐝 Derwent Valley Honey 🐝 πŸ”ΈπŸ”Έ

If you visit New Norfolk Market on a Saturday morning look out for Derwent Valley Honey - a local business on a mission to help educate the community, one jar of honey at a time, about bees and their important role in agriculture.

"We create a simple but enjoyable array of honey’s with the highest quality products sourced locally in the Derwent Valley, and all made with pride and care" said Lori, who runs Derwent Valley Honey.

"We have a combined experience of fifteen years in beekeeping as well as being supporters and members of the Southern Tasmanian Beekeepers Association (STBA)."

Derwent Valley Honey not only produces and sells local honey, they also support local bee keepers, providing experience, equipment, and advice, and offering an outlet for their honey.

Derwent Valley Honey also run courses for beginner beekeepers, with their next one starting in September (so book in now so you don't miss out!).

Lori says by buying honey from local bee keepers we can all play a role in protecting honeybees, and supporting local farmers. "You can ensure artisanal beekeepers and local sustainable farmers receive a decent price for their premium product, which is better than what you can get in the supermarket."

πŸ”ΈπŸ”Έ RE Clark and Son Butcher πŸ”ΈπŸ”Έ

RE Clark and Son has been Derwent Valley's local butcher, providing New Norfolk with meat sourced locally from Derwent Valley Farms for over 60 years.

Current owner Brodie Clark told us his family business is famous for their Saveloys and sausages.

"We have been using the exact same Saveloy and sausage recipe for 60 years. We often get phone calls from people who have moved out of the valley phoning to make sure we haven't changed recipe because they are making the trip up to New Norfolk for the day to stock up on our smallgoods" said Brodie.

"Support from the local community is so important for our business. Many high streets have lost their local butcher in recent years. We rely on the community to continue to 'go local first'"

"We employ five locals too, so by supporting businesses like ours you are keeping locals employed" said Brodie.

Show your support for another great local business in the Derwent Valley.

A long weekend, thought provoking 'local' art AND Cake!

Can't wait to check out the 'SCREAM' installation at The ArtHouse New Norfolk this weekend.

A blend of poetry and rarely seen images of the graffiti within the walls of Willow Court.

Also very much looking forward to a slice of their 'Paint The Town Red Velvet' Cake.

How lucky we are to be in the Derwent Valley!
