Our very first Fresh Flower Friday is happening tomorrow.

This is our first run, so we’re trialling what works best tomorrow and over the weekend. We’re thinking of keeping things simple moving forward with two bunch sizes, two seasonal colour options, and a native or single-variety bunch each week.

I’d love your feedback.

When you’re buying flowers, what price point are you generally comfortable spending?

And are you usually drawn to soft neutrals, bright colours, natives, or something else?

Looking forward to seeing what everyone thinks and hopefully bringing Fresh Flower Friday to Murrumbateman as a regular offering. 🌿🌸

New Winter Trading Hours ❄️

As many small business owners know, winter can bring a noticeable slowdown in foot traffic, and after a lot of consideration, we’ve decided to adjust our trading hours for the colder months.

Running a small business often means making difficult decisions and trying to balance what works for our customers, our family, and the long-term sustainability of the business. While it’s never possible to keep everyone happy, this change allows us to reduce overheads during quieter periods and dedicate time to some exciting projects we’re currently working on behind the scenes.

Please know that we’re still here for you. If you need a gift, flowers, local delivery, or have something urgent outside of our trading hours, don’t hesitate to reach out. Being a local family-run business means we can often be a little more flexible than the sign on the door suggests and our website is always available 24/7.

Thank you for your understanding, support, and loyalty. Every purchase, message, recommendation and visit means more to us than you’ll ever know.

We look forward to welcoming you in during our new winter hours and sharing what’s next with you soon.

WE ARE OFFERING 40% OFF HOME FRAGRANCE REFILLS!
Candles • Reed Diffusers • Room Sprays
Offer Ends June 30

We refill almost anything, not just our jars!
You can bring in your candles, diffuser bottles, or sprays and we’ll give them a fresh new life with your favourite scent.

If you’re new to refills, here’s how it works 👇🏼

PLEASE READ

• Please leave your lids at home (because I’ll lose them)
• Jars must be thoroughly cleaned (we posted a video of how to do this last week)
• We are not limited to our own jars, you can reuse what you already have ♻️

CLEANING YOUR JARS:
Fill with boiling water, remove wick tab with a butter knife, let wax rise and solidify (then pop it in the bin, do not put melted wax down the sink), and wash thoroughly with hot soapy water.

From now, any jars returned unclean will incur a $5 fee per jar (they take a LOT of time to prep when dirty)

WHEN DROPPING OFF:
Please include a note with:
• Your name
• Contact number
• A list of your chosen fragrances and which jar they’re for
(or to be extra helpful pop a note inside each jar with all the above details 🫶🏽)

I am happy to collect jars in Gungahlin suburbs each Wednesday evening leading up to June 30 so please DM or text me to arrange collection.

You can drop your jars to us at
2/5 Hercules Street, Murrumbateman or
7 Gibraltar Street, Bungendore

Please keep an eye out for our updated business hours being released shortly.

A little behind-the-scenes update on what I’ve been prioritising over the past few weeks.

Website creating and today has been all about product photography, uploading stock and continuing to build our website so that shopping with us is as easy and convenient as possible…. From the couch of course 🤪

Buuuut… building websites is something I know absolutely nothing about and I couldn’t justify spending thousands of dollars without first giving it a crack myself, so I’ve been teaching myself as I go.

While I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve created so far, I’m also learning. If you have a spare few minutes, I’d absolutely love for you to jump on, have a browse and let me know if you spot anything that could be improved, any glitches, or even products you’d love to see added.
I like honesty and I won’t be offended, I can take constructive criticism so bring it on 🤗

And if you have any sneaky little backend features, website tricks or SEO wisdom you’d like to share, I’m all ears. I’ve already learned more about SEO than I ever planned to 😴

To say thank you for supporting this little dream of mine, giving me a few minutes of your time and an extra set of eyes, I’d love for you to enjoy:

🤍 20% OFF SITEWIDE
🤍 Use code WELOVELOVE20
🤍 Valid until 10am, 11th June

Every order, share, website visit and recommendation genuinely helps keep our small business growing, and for that I’ll always be so grateful 🫶🏽

Thank you for supporting local, shopping small and helping me build something I’m really proud of.

We apologise for the late notice but…
I’ve made the decision to keep our doors closed today for the long weekend to be completely present and appreciate the little family I work so hard for. Today feels like the perfect opportunity to slow down and spend some quality time with them.

I’m excited to be spending the day at home with the kids, pottering around in the garden, preparing food for the week ahead and simply taking the day as it comes.

One thing I sometimes envy about a traditional 9–5 is the ability to switch off after hours and on weekends. Small business is super rewarding, but it can also be really demanding, stressful and consumes every inch of you majority of the time. Days where you completely step away from work can be hard to come by, and while this business is something I’ve chosen and love so much, the reason behind it all was to create a life with more balance, flexibility and presence for my family.

As small business owners, it’s easy to get caught up in the constant doing, but I’m learning that rest is just as important as hard work.

Over the next week, I’ll also be reviewing our trading hours as we move through winter, ensuring we’re operating in a way that best serves our customers and our family. We’d genuinely love your feedback, what hours would you like to see us open? Is there anything you’d change about our current trading hours? Your suggestions are always really appreciated to ensure we are supporting our community as much as possible to our capacity.

Thank you, as always, for your support, understanding and for allowing us to do what we love every day. It never goes unnoticed. 🤍

We’ll see you Tuesday, refreshed, recharged and ready for another week. ✨

P.S. If you’re also taking the long weekend to slow down a little, I hope you enjoy every minute of it. 🫶🏽

A little candle refill reminder from us 🤍

We’ve noticed quite a few refill jars coming back lately that haven’t been cleaned out beforehand. While we absolutely love offering our refill service and the 20% refill discount, cleaning out used jars is really time consuming on our end.

Before returning your jars, please try to:
• Remove leftover wax residue, wick tab and labels if you’d like a new fragrance.
• Wipe out excess soot or debris
• Give the jar a thorough clean before bringing it back in
• Leave a note in each jar with your name, phone number and fragrance you’d like your jar refilled with.

We’ve also noticed some jars returning with a thick ring of wax left around the edges. This is usually caused by tunnelling, which happens when a candle isn’t burned long enough during each burn.

Our biggest candle tip:
Always burn your candle until the melt pool reaches the edge of the jar every single burn.

Especially during Canberra’s freezing weather, wax can become extremely solid and occasionally your wick may struggle to generate enough heat to fully melt the candle. If you notice this happening please let us know, we can fix this with a slightly larger wick or an extra wick because we hate seeing your candles go to waste!

We’ve also had lots of people asking how to properly clean their jars lately, so we thought it was the perfect time to pop together a little video tutorial for you 🫶🏽
