We started Children’s Book Week off with local author, Myke Mollard, launching his new book Wonderfully Weird Creatures of the World.

There’s always something new to discover in Myke’s books and this one
details the oddballs of the animal world: from weird behaviours to strange adaptions, unusual ways of moving, extraordinary camouflage and (to some of us) the downright ugly.

It features over 240 of the earth’s most interesting and fascinating creatures including the naked mole-rat, blind snakes, hammer-headed bats, blowfish, Bo***es, the dumbo octopus, goblin sharks, vampire squid, bone-eating vultures, hagfish, fairy armadillos, proboscis monkeys and the great potoo.

Myke Mollard took us on a visual adventure to discover the world’s weirdest creatures!

What a brilliant evening for all who attended Moreno Giovannoni’s author event last night.

Moreno was in conversation with Christine Balint discussing his books; The Fireflies of Autumn & his award winning book The Immigrants.

Connections were also made as people reflected on their own family history. Paying tribute to what it is we leave behind when one is displaced and steps into a new life.

Exciting news! We have Villa Coco by Andrew Sea Greer back in stock.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading this yet it’s a book that leaves you feeling lighter and very glad you picked it up. Full of warmth, hope and wonderfully unexpected, laugh-out-loud moments.
