Trekpac

Trekpac Aussie business selling high quality leather items and bedding compounds for precision accuracy. I had a stroke at the end of 2019 that changed my view on life.

TrekPac became an idea from 10 years of being mentored and supporting Nathan Fosters teachings, Terminal Ballistic Research. Spending time with a great hunting guide Zane, and my pending retirement let me tell you a little more of the story. I have been trying for the last half dozen years to acquire one more MatchGrade Hobby Modelling Compound from Nathan as all my rifles are bedded in his produc

ts, but unfortunately every time we spoke in relation to ordering the answer has always been I am not shipping it to Australia anymore. Fast forward to 2021 and I decided to venture on a guided hunt for a week into the Alpine chasing the elusive Sambar for meat and maybe a trophy, while on this incredible trip I had a thought about maybe setting up an online store selling the MatchGrade Hobby Modelling Compound so us here in Australia could purchase. So on my return I reached out to Nathan and said there must be a way I can get hold of the kits, Nathan said the only way is to purchase a commercial quantity that would be shipped on a pallet but if you were to do this, I would think you have to add a few other items on the website as well, so I hung the phone up and started thinking. While on my adventure I saw Zane had a leather belt with different leather and canvas components that were attached all handmade, so I asked him where he got them from, he advised that he handmakes the products they look fantastic and so I decide to get him to make me a set. Well so the idea was to see if Zane would be interested in making them for me and I would sell them on my website he agreed so I put in an initial order. This is how I got my last MatchGrade kit, expensive way of going about it but the product is so good, and the leather goods are so good it was a no brainer. I need to keep myself a little busy in retirement.

Hi all new hunting knife from a new knife maker super impressed. We spoke on the phone 2 or 3 times listened to how and what I want to use the knife for in the bush. Then drew a few designs for me and hey presto. A very nice hunting knife.

Good Morning All Just some pictures of a recent hunting trip to one of my favorite spots. Unfortunately the deer were scarce this time. But on the way out half way back to the car I stopped for a quick drink in front of a fallen gum branch. I had a feeling something was looking at me as I turned my head in the direction standing behind a tree about 150 yards was a magnificent Sambar Stag just looking at me. I could only see half of him as he was hidden by the tree but the side I could see was impressive. I stood still for what felt like eternity releasing there was no way of shouldering my rifle so I decided to try and get a photo on my phone. As soon as I reached for the phone in my bino rig he completed a 180 and disappeared in a blink that encounter made my trip.

Hi all,
I was watching a video and a statement was made which I truely believe and follow. I encourage all true hunters to stay true to this statement.
FAIR CHASE, as defined by the Boone and Crockett Club, is the ethical, sportsmanlike, and lawful pursuit and taking of any free-ranging wild game animal in a manner that does not give the hunter an improper or unfair advantage over the game animals.

Some pics from my latest hunting trip. It was a great week different style of hunting were you are no further then 100 yds from the target so learning to be extra quiet was a challenge, saw plenty of deer unfortunately could not get an ethical shot away but really for me not the object of my trip. This was to become a smarter hunter understand the bush better and how deer move around and there patterns. Taking of a deer would have been the cherry on the top.

Hi all,
Well what's the chances of contracting Covid on the walk in for a 6 day backpack hunt, well guess what it happened by Wednesday afternoon I was completely F'd. Could breath properly no energy and feeling completely crap. Also Forestry had been conducting a huge burn off getting ahead of the fire season good to see. Anyway we packed up camp Wednesday lunchtime and headed to a camp closer to the car. It was a slow walk but we got there and setup camp, decided to rest for the arvo, I would see how I felt in the morning for a hunt, fever most of the night. Rose at 6 on the track by 7 and stalked to 10.30am had the opportunity to take a stag at about 260 yds but for whatever reason I let him get away. I just made it back to camp feeling really crap and we decide to pack-up and head to the car which was still a 2 hour walk. Got back to the car and home slowly getting better, I have to say the mind can definitely push the body. I have added a few photos that I happened to take but none of deer unfortunately, but there is always next time. Safe hunting everyone.
