Mindful Time in the Classroom - For Teachers
Here are some great tips for teachers when having or implementing mindful time in the classroom.
Many of my clients talk to me about mindful time at school and how their teacher puts meditation on in the classroom and tell them to just be quiet. This is not effective.
The thing is, if kids don’t understand or aren’t guided they loose interest or will simply get distracted. Mindful time is about calming down the kids which is great intention but if you want the kids to regulate and actually calm down then they must be guided.
The focus should always be on the breathing. So instead of popping calm music on, a guided visual meditation is most effective. The talking from the meditation will tap into their sub conscious mind for them to focus on breathe.
