Come spend a Sunday afternoon at miss fyffe. playing with really good flowers, having a drink, eating tiramisu + learning all the little trips and tricks.

Think less serious flower workshop, more really good afternoon with flowers. AND you’re actually going to learn a thing or two while you’re here.

ATTENTION ALL YOU TULIP LOVERS 🌷🌷🌷

Quick florist PSA because tulips are gorgeous, dramatic, and honestly a bit feral if we’re being honest.

First things first:
Tulips prefer shallow water.
Not a deep vase. Just a few cm in the vase is perfect, think “cute little drink,” not “thirsty as’ Top it up regularly and keep it fresh (change every 2-3 days)

Now let’s talk about the flower food,
While all miss fyffe. flowers come with flower food, tulips don’t strictly need it and often prefer fresh water or just a very tiny light dose.

They’re sensitive little things, too much food and they’ll go floppy faster than your motivation on a Monday hahaha
And if you’ve ever arranged tulips perfectly straight, only to wake up the next day and find them doing their own little cross cross across the vase, they are not broken, they are just being tulips!!!

Because tulips actually keep growing after they’re cut. So they will literally get taller in your vase like they’ve got something to prove!!

They also respond to light, which is why they bend, twist, and turn like they’re trying to find the best seat in the room.
It’s called phototropism if you want to sound clever at dinner parties

But I think it’s part of their charm. A little chaotic.A little dramatic. Absolutely always doing the most.

The pretty parts gets all the attention. Obviously.
But this? This is floristry too.
Cold shop. Foliage everywhere. Basing boxes. Same thing over and over and over again until I could probably do it with my eyes closed.

Also this is why I wear gumboots to work 😂😂😂

It’s not the glamorous bit.
It’s not the Instagram worthy part
It’s the consistency that is the reality of it.
The boring little steps that happen before the flowers go in, the ribbon and card msg goes on and something leaves the shop ready to be part of someone’s big moment.

Base. Build. Repeat.
