A little belated birthday parcel for someone who helps keep Harriet’s teas moving through the world. ☕✨

Inside: Birthday Tea, a handwritten card, and a few small tea-table treasures.

There is something especially lovely about choosing tea as a gift — it does not ask to be opened quickly, but enjoyed slowly.

Happy belated birthday, and thank you for all you do. 💛

The roses in today’s video were picked from the front garden.

Michael grows them, and this time of year they’re one of my favourite things to see when I come home. 🌹

While I was setting up some tea photos, Luna decided the occasion required her immediate attention.

She inspected every arrangement, investigated the tea, and spent a great deal of time making sure the roses met her standards.

I can’t say she was particularly helpful, but she was certainly enthusiastic. 🐈☕

A small parlour game for Tuesday afternoon —

Tell me a person, book character, film character, or historical figure, and I shall choose the tea I would serve them.

Elizabeth Bennet? Something bright and witty.

Sherlock Holmes? Something robust enough to survive a long night of deductions.

Miss Marple? Something proper, observant, and quietly formidable.

Leave a name below, and I’ll match them to a blend from the tea cabinet. ☕✨

My dear,

There are rooms that seem determined to improve one’s spirits.

A conservatory in winter is one of them.

Outside, the rain may do as it pleases. The garden may sleep beneath grey skies and cold winds. Yet within, there are roses still climbing, lamps still glowing, and a teapot patiently keeping company.

I have always thought there is something wonderfully reassuring about creating a small pocket of warmth while the world beyond the glass is busy being winter.

This afternoon, I hope you find a corner of your own to retreat to — a favourite chair, a good book, and perhaps a proper cup of tea.

Yours faithfully,

Lady Harriet ☕✨

Good morning from Fremantle ☕

Before the stall opens, there is usually a cup of Rising Sun somewhere nearby.

Out of all our blends, it is the tea I reach for first thing in the morning. Sencha green tea, pineapple, chamomile, rose petals, and marigold — bright enough to start the day, yet gentle enough to savour slowly.

If you’re visiting the markets today, do stop by and explore the sample jars. One of the nicest parts of market life is helping people discover a blend they never expected to love.

And if Fremantle is a little too far away, Rising Sun is always waiting for you online as well. 💚

✨ Stall 53, Fremantle Markets
☕ Open today from 9am–6pm

06/06/2026

Imagine you’ve just wandered into Stall 53 on a chilly Saturday morning.

Perhaps you’re after something cosy.
Perhaps something romantic.
Something bright.
Something spiced.

The markets are open, the shelves are full, and we’re ready for another weekend of tea, candles, and conversations. ☕✨

And if you’re not local, you can still shop with us online — the parlour is never too far away.

You’ll find us at Stall 53 in the Fremantle Markets, Friday to Sunday from 9am–6pm.

Which would you take home?

We’ve been keeping a little secret.

Can you spot what’s new on the shelves? 👀

After months of testing fragrances, pouring wax, adjusting labels, redesigning boxes, and filling the workshop with more candles than we care to count…

Our first tea-inspired candles have finally arrived at the stall.

Each fragrance is inspired by one of our teas, with custom scent blends created to capture the character of the tea in an entirely different way.

Hand-poured.
Coco soy wax.

This first little release is available now at Stall 53 in the Fremantle Markets.

We’re not releasing them online just yet, but if you’d like one simply send us a message and we’ll happily arrange it for you. 🖤

We’d love to know—which tea would you most like to experience as a candle?

In Lady Harriet’s parlour, choosing tea is never treated as a small decision.

Some guests reach for the same dependable breakfast blend each morning, as loyal as a favourite chair.

Others choose by mood — something floral when the day feels soft, something bold when courage is required, something mysterious when the evening grows long.

And then, of course, there are those who simply open the cupboard and allow the prettiest tin to make the decision for them.

A most respectable method, in Lady Harriet’s opinion.

A Parlour Question:

Do you choose your tea by mood, by time of day, or by the tin that catches your eye first?

There was a time when enjoying a cup of tea made one an accomplice to smugglers.

In the 18th century, tea was so heavily taxed in Britain that it became a luxury far beyond the reach of many ordinary households.

Naturally, the British public responded in the most British way imaginable.

They kept drinking it.

Smuggled tea arrived by night along the coast, hidden in caves, carried inland by secret routes, and sold quietly to those who preferred their tea without the king’s extra charge.

It is a strange and rather wonderful thought — that something we now associate with calm parlours, pretty cups, and civilised conversation once had a faint air of rebellion about it.

So the next time you pour a cup, remember: tea has not always been as innocent as it looks.

Once, it crossed oceans, slipped through moonlit coves, travelled by secret roads, and still somehow ended up where it belonged —

in someone’s favourite cup.
