We just returned from the Barra Nationals on the mighty Daly River. The Banyan Farm - Daly River was hit hard with a lot of the river edge washed away (30metres I believe) from the recent wet season floods. What an awesome effort to Kerri, Wally, Russ and the crew to get the venue to a great standard. The boat ramp had to have a lot of work on it to become useable and in the end was fantastic. With 50 teams having to launch and retrieve each day many of us believed it would be a long wait as the pontoons had all been washed away.
To everyone's credit the launch and retrieve of boats was very well managed.
As for Team Reidys Schneider we ended up 21st and we caught our bag of 5 Barra everyday, but we lost a lot of barra (especially teammate Paul Moran lol). Our most successful lures were the Akame Guppy's in sizes 120, 150 and 200mm, B52's, Judges and Schneider braid and leader. A great tournament with great team mates.
It was great to see so many teams using our products Reidys Lures, Schneider fishing lines and Akame Tackle.
Thanks must go to my wife Karen for holding the fort at work whilst I was out working, special thanks to the crew at Banyan Farm, Kerri, Wally, Russ and all their volunteers (Stu and Chris were unbelievable). Bec, Lynne and Darryl thanks for one of the best Barra Nationals under trying circumstances.
Thanks Clinton (Cookie) and his crew for the awesome meals!!!!!
To all competitors thanks for an awesome week with great banter especially from our "sister team" Team Akame.
Congratulations to all the winners.
Congrats to the Reidys Lures overall Biggest Barra to Dylan ODonnell for his 115cm capture but also a 110cm barra. Dylan was using 40lb braid and Schneider 70lb leader.
Thanks to all our supporters
