ROTAX STATE CUP — ROUND 3 | NEWCASTLE KART CLUB

The championship points have been updated and with 8 classes on the grid for the State Cup The KartShop has 2 drivers leading their respective championships/leaderboards with KartShop drivers holding a quarter of the top spots plus a 2nd and a 3rd.

Lachlan Frank — P1 Lachie absolutely dominated from start to finish, with no one coming close all weekend. Even more impressive he had never driven the Newcastle track before. A seriously impressive performance.

Scott Hargans — P2 Scott also arrived at Newcastle having never driven the circuit in all his years of racing. He was right in contention for the win all weekend, but serious rib pain affected his driving in the Final. We’re confident that without the injury, he had the pace to take the win — but a hard-fought P2 was still a fantastic result.

Seth Brown in the highly competitive Rotax light class delivered some serious close racing to keep himself firmly in 3rd place in the fight for the ticket to the Rotax Titles in Portugal

Will Yager had a tough weekend, with the rain making an already physically demanding track even more challenging. He maintains his hold on 2nd place in the championship taking plenty of new race experience into the next round.

Isaac & Neeko were basically recreating the 2025 McLaren season 😂 — with the two KartShop team mates battling each other hard for positions all weekend.

Hudson Barnes was unfortunately struck down by illness, bringing his weekend to a sudden end. Although, given the miserable rainy start to the day and the fact he was sleeping in the car, he may actually have held the most enviable position of the entire weekend!

A huge effort from the whole KartShop crew and a weekend that gave us plenty to be proud of.
Next stop: Wagga Wagga next month for Round 4.
That will be any new track experience for most of our drivers and we’re looking forward to seeing what we can do.

Karting puts serious load on your body, and your ribs take the brunt of it. As the kart corners, the g‑forces multiply and drive intense pressure straight into the ribcage — which is why proper protection isn’t optional, it’s essential.

Here are some examples of quality maximum rib protection without sacrificing chassis feel. They all have advanced, load‑spreading panels distribute force evenly across the entire ribcage and maintain their shape even in high heat. With an ultra‑thin profiles, allow the slimmest rib protector available, ensuring your seat fit and driving position remain exactly as they should.

Professional protection, zero compromise.
