How epic is to see a couple of the local Broome juniors .bodle out there having a go and be rewarded with a nice little Black Marlin last weekend which was teased up with a spread of our daisy chains.

They are already gun fisherman and will be a force to be reckoned with in the future!

What a competition we have just had at the Broome billfish Classic. During the 3 and a half days 1078 sailfish were captured!! We fished on ‘Reel Game 2’ as usual and had an amazing time. We caught 149 sails with 70 on Day 1 with only a handful of boats in the area. The next morning it looked like the first fleet arriving over the horizon with all the boats wanting to get in on some of the action.

Our results were

Day 1 - 70 sails
Day 2 - 33 sails
Day 3 - 25 sails
Day 4 - 21 sails

Champion boat Fattys day - 70 sails
Runner up champion angler Fattys day - Eric 23 sails

Billfish Classic

Champion boat over 7.5m - 149 sails
Champion male angler - Eric 50 sails
Champion traveling angler - Wade 31 sails

Runner up overall 149 sails narrowly missing out by 4 fish.

Thanks to our captain Joel Gooch and super decky Paul Slager who wore the brunt of of leadering the fish coping whacks from swivels and hooks and even been poked a few times by bills.

Now it’s time to start preparing for next year.
