The World’s Biggest Garage Sale

We believe we can make a positive impact on people’s lives and the future of the planet through the events and experiences we create.

World’s Biggest Garage Sale (WBGS) is commercialising the circular economy through the activation of dormant goods. A pillar of the circular economy is looking at prevention, rather than cure. The events, services and education we provide, are capturing and diverting goods before they become landfill, helping communities and businesses to view the products that come through their business (or that they design), with a more circular, rather than linear lens. This leads to a resource efficiency paradigm shift, where waste is reused/repurposed or becomes the raw material for value-creating production processes. Through the work we do, WBGS provides positive impact for people, planet and purpose.

Our big vision comprises several streams that fit together to augment the reach and impact possible:

We host large-scale local re-commerce events where communities and businesses donate their unused or unwanted products and we resell them to create purposeful profit. To date, WBGS has donated over $300K to Queensland charities, diverted over 3.3-million kgs of potential waste from landfill and contributed over $1.7-million in social value to the global economy.

WBGS Pop Up shops are held throughout the year to resell aged inventory or obsolete goods, to divert landfill at scale. Our recent project ‘If The Shoe Fits’, Brisbane's first circular economy popup shop, diverted over 2000 pairs of designer shoes from landfill.

Our Circular Economy Futures (CEF) meetup is Australia’s largest (and first) monthly event dedicated to giving a platform to change-makers in the circular economy, sustainability and CSR space. We provide education, connection and awareness around the Circular Economy in Brisbane and Australia. Register here.

‘Retail Rescue’ - we are working with a large Australian retailer on a resource recovery project. We rescue, then repair, repurpose and resell the imperfect products, thereby transforming waste into saleable products.
