The rim is probably one of the most personal parts of a mouthpiece. If the rim doesn't fit, the feel of the instrument is negatively affected, making it difficult to change positions or center the tone. Many musicians come to us and experience an artistic rebirth, as a well-fitting rim eliminates the fight against the mouthpiece.

A good mouthpiece adapts to the musician and not the other way around!

The ML-model shown in the picture is a larger version of the M-model of the horn rim range. The M-model represents the median of the WHF horn rims and was specifically designed for Michel Gasciarino to produce a beautiful, balanced sound. With a comfortable, rounded touchdown feel and ample contact surface, it offers excellent grip in all conditions. Although not a classic rim, the M model represents a solid, neutral option within the WHF horn rims and is often considered the perfect medium. It is often used as a starting point for mouthpiece fittings for new customers looking for balanced performance and versatility.

Finally Brass Academy Alicante again! Our next stop on our WHF summer tour: sunny Alicante on the Costa Blanca in Spain.

We last visited Nury () and Rudi at the Brass Academy Alicante seven years ago, and now it's that time again.

Surrounded by great musicians, we spend a week in Alicante fine-tuning mouthpieces for all types of brass instruments.

Zuletzt vor sieben Jahren besuchten wir Nury und Rudi in der Brass Academy Alicante, und jetzt ist es wieder so weit.

Umgeben von tollen Musikern arbeiten wir in Alicante eine Woche lang an dem Fein-Tuning von Mundstücken für alle Arten von Blechbläsern.

At the beginning of this week we made our way to the Brassweek Samedan in Switzerland. Many enthusiastic brass musicians visited us for a mouthpiece fitting and, with our support, they quickly found what they were looking for!

The mouthpiece in particular is a very sensitive part when choosing the right equipment, which is why it is recommended to visit us in person. This way even the smallest problems can be solved in no time!

We would like to thank Brassweek Samedan very much for the invitation and are already looking forward to a possible next time!

Am Anfang dieser Woche machten wir uns auf den Weg zur Brassweek Samedan in der Schweiz. Viele begeisterte Brass-Musiker besuchten uns für eine Mundstückanpassung und wurden mit unserer persönlichen Betreuung in den meisten Fällen schnell fündig!

Insbesondere das Mundstück ist ein sehr sensibler Teil beim Aussuchen des richtigen Equipments, wodurch es empfehlenswert ist bei uns persönlich vorbeizuschauen. So können auch die kleinsten Probleme im Nu gelöst werden!

Wir bedanken uns bei der Brassweek Samedan ganz herzlich für die Einladung und freuen uns schon auf ein mögliches nächstes Mal!

Particularly important for a good mouthpiece: the right basic material! A small difference in material density or temperature during production can have a significant impact on the sound and feel.

All WHF mouthpieces are made with the same quality brass from Germany. The brass we use goes through long testing phases before it is used as the base material in our mouthpieces. This is the only way to guarantee long-lasting quality in our products!
