Did you know kimchi wasn’t always spicy?
In ancient Korea, people preserved vegetables in salt water to survive harsh winters.
The dish was called Chimchae, meaning “to sink vegetables into water.”
When chili peppers arrived from the Americas in the 17th century, Koreans added them to the mix — transforming kimchi into the red, flavorful version we know today.
It’s more than just a side dish. It’s a story of survival, culture, and creativity.

Did you know the Titanic’s operators once joked while sending their last messages?
At first, they used the old distress call “CQD,” but then someone said, “Send SOS—it’s the new call!”

That moment made SOS the world’s most famous emergency signal.
But here’s the twist — SOS doesn’t actually mean “Save Our Souls” or “Save Our Ship.”
It was chosen for one reason: clarity in Morse code.
Three dots, three dashes, three dots. (... --- ...)

Next time you see SOS, remember it carries the echo of the Titanic’s cry for help.

✨ Dubai Design Week is almost here! But did you know the story of Dubai’s very first letter د goes back thousands of years?

The Arabic letter dāl (د) looks simple, but its ancestor was the ancient Phoenician letter daleth, shaped like a tent door 🚪
From there, it traveled across cultures:
transforming into the Greek Δ (delta), the same symbol you’ve seen in math textbooks, and later becoming the Latin D we use in English today.

This single letter carries a fascinating journey through human history.
Next time you read Dubai, you’re not just reading a city’s name, you’re seeing 3,000 years of design and storytelling in one symbol.

A little secret from the world of letters ✨

Did you know comets are called “dirty snowballs”?
Their glowing tails are made of gas and dust, stretching away from the Sun. 🌌

Did you know diamonds and pencils are basically siblings?
Yep! They’re made of the same element

💎 Carbon is full of surprises! It can be the dazzling, rare diamond, or the soft graphite in your pencil. One is ultra-hard, the other super-soft!

Exactly! Did you catch that?

✏️ There's no lead in pencils. It's graphite, a form of carbon! Early scientists made a mistake, and the name "lead pencil" stuck.

Crazy, right? Here's another fun fact!

🧬 Almost 20% of the human body is carbon!
You are more than just flesh and bone. You are made of carbon. Carbon makes up our DNA, proteins, and fats. Without carbon, we simply would not exist.

Today is Flag Day 🇺🇸, June 14th.
Here are 3 fun facts about the US flag
1. 🧵The first U.S. flag was sewn by a seamstress named Betsy Ross?
Legend says that in 1776, Betsy Ross, a seamstress from Philadelphia, sewed the first American flag by hand. She’s also said to have suggested five-pointed stars because they were easier to stitch!
2. 🎨The flag’s colors have deep meaning!
Red stands for courage, white for purity, and blue for justice and perseverance. These aren’t just pretty colors—they’re a symbolic color palette of American ideals!
3. 🧒The current U.S. flag was designed by a high school student!?
In 1958, 16-year-old Robert G. Heft created a 50-star version of the U.S. flag for a school project. He originally received a B−, but after his design was officially adopted by the U.S. government, his grade was raised to an A.
