Nice clear data came through last night and this morning. I will start to move waypoints ligning these up with current live data and chlorophyll. So once I have finished these. Overlay last nights with this mornings data, You will see that the waypoints may not line up with what you may be seeing, this is to take into acount the live over 6 hour proir data, some areas stay the same some move.

Cheers
Paul

Been a great area over the last few days for boats.

Hey Paul,
Was travelling north towards the barrier on Saturday. Came across 20 odd dolphin travelling east, looked on the noaa and seen I was on the edge of a cold patch that run west from my position. Turned to follow the edge in, seen 10 gannets diving in 500m ahead, as I approached a fish splashed in the birds, beside the boat, I turned and one up on the long flat, we’re on.. Then I s**t you not at least 10 fish appeared every rod was on they were swinging off my teaser and destroyed my dredge.
Hooked 4
1 cut off
1 pulled off on leader
1 T&R
Other came off because we couldn’t keep it tight, was just me my 7 and 2 year old sons onboard. I’ve had doubles and triples but that qualifies as a genuine pack attack. Murphys law?

The service is not really about the waypoints, there are plenty to chose from and to be honest water is moving a lot faster this year than other years. Chlorophyll and bait areas dont change fast takes time to develop.

An example of this is the T***s area and before that the Bay area.

To me its all about how you plan and how you work live SST in a format that is usable at higher zoom levels at sea, The bait just gets moved around the areas of food.

Working those fluctuations ie underlying temperature breaks.

Sometimes it just takes a step to the right or to the left.

I dont mind people contacting me once you are out on the grounds, sometimes it just takes another eye, that may make a difference, and I will explain why in private.
But make your own decisions before you leave.

Once you find what you are looking for, the map tool can be put away.

Cheers
Paul

Good luck all fishing the Nationals. With the ability to screenshot. send me a position with your boat. If I'm near the computer and I have some live data. I may see sominthing worth checking close to your current position.

All helps

Training.

What times bite time tomorrow? Just on the beers with some mates in Waihi beach and they are going trolling tomorrow. I’ve got my iPad and going to jump on.

Don’t mean to be demanding, just asking as it would take me a while to work it out and I’m probably not up for it!

Great Data, we have had a good run of clear skies. The whole of the North East _ West updated waypoints. As you analize your charts , you may see areas that I mark in what you may think goes against the normal I cover all areas Green and blue.

The reason this is I allways work between Noaa and Chloryphyll.
Sst moves, but food is still in the general area, sst is more about bait stacking up against breaks, these are seen as fluctuations in temp in warm water, and cool.

It pays for you to work with Nasa and Chlory once you understand those two with opacity, then you will start to move into Noaa.,

The maps are designed for max zoom, use it, its there for a reason.

Noaa should be used in the area once you get to what you feel looks good.

You will soon understand, by working high res Noaa, you will become a we bit more accurate to finding the breaks in the general area,

Cheers

Working live. bit of a training session.

Free Jumper (Marlin in the area)
Chloroyphyll (showing change)
Noaa overlay live (fluctuation in temp)
(Current conversion)
SSH
Waypoints. (not necessary as all above points you there)
Bite time 1.30- 2.30
Fish hooked 1.15.

Not alot of bait, but it will be there somewhere, few gannets sitting.

2x S/Marlin ( from a double)
1 x Mahi Mahi

Probably easier for me to copy and paste conversations.

They change, I havent updated that area, I think I did Gisborne _ Napier yesterday. I will update that area today. I dont move them far, unless it requires it. Im looking at live that day, its upto you to see why I mark it and figure out any change.
only way you going to learn, the ocean never stays still, good data is important when planning, waypoints are a guide
You must zoom into the waypoints, and look for colour boundary> temp > current with nasa. Then load noaa, which is live and you will see its moved, understanding the change can be seen with opacity slider. waypoints cluster in certain areas, because of that movement, usually about 2-5 5k apart, before the next cluster.
marks are up

Sorry about the delay loading Maps this morning. Hardware upgrades.... There could be some delays, as I migrate.

Maps are updating as I write.

You see, were you came down on the finger, was blue, but if you looked back at our conversation, that showed as a connection of warm into were you hooked your fish, and its a tinge of blue in green, those marks you saw were deep 150m, must of been Marlin heading into the bait area, you will find that that area between the two on a bite time is were you should try to position yourself
You sent
good thing about the software, is you can go back and analize your trip, you can save .gpx trolling course of your trip on your phone to view later on your home computer.

I have done a quick update of waypoints for the Whangaroa brett area, for the comp.

Hope the weather is kinder today.

I always thought Warm are better in NZ, truth be known, they are all like a cork screw.

They throw everything out.

Both mesoscale warm and cold oceanic features can contribute to nutrient enrichment, but the specific nutrient dynamics can vary depending on the characteristics of the feature and the region. Here's a general overview:

Mesoscale warm oceanic features (such as warm eddies or upwelling regions):
- These features often result from warm ocean currents or wind-driven processes.
- Warm features can sometimes limit the availability of nutrients due to reduced vertical mixing and upwelling of deeper, nutrient-rich waters.
- However, they can also support high primary productivity due to increased light availability and stability, which can enhance nutrient recycling and promote the growth of phytoplankton and other photosynthetic organisms.

Mesoscale cold oceanic features (such as cold eddies or coastal upwelling):
- These features often result from cold ocean currents or other factors that cause upwelling of deeper, nutrient-rich waters.
- Cold features are typically associated with increased nutrient availability near the surface due to the upward movement of nutrient-rich waters.
- This nutrient enrichment can support abundant phytoplankton growth, which can fuel higher trophic levels in the marine food web.

It's important to note that the nutrient dynamics in the ocean are influenced by various factors, including local and regional oceanographic conditions, seasonal variations, and the specific characteristics of the mesoscale features. Therefore, it's challenging to make a generalized statement about which type of feature produces more nutrients overall.

I asked AI wre should we fish

It's important to note that the presence and movement of warm eddies can vary seasonally and from year to year. Local knowledge, fishing reports, and consulting with local fishing charters or guides can help you stay up-to-date on the best areas and timing for tuna fishing in warm eddies.

My thoughts exactly.
