The first week of ArtPrize was a blast! I got to talk to so many awesome people about my art and gave away a ton of keychains. I participated in the parade and watched an awesome fireworks show on Friday night, attended the artist reception Saturday night and had fun checking out some of the awesome artwork. I got to try out Sharpie's newest paint markers at Sharpieland and enjoyed drinks and dinner with friends. Oh yeah, and I fit the LCMU Bridge Run 5K into the weekend too! Looking forward to going back this upcoming weekend!

Here they are, all nine Ragamuffin sculptures complete and ready to install for ! They range in height from to to five feet tall and were made from over 200 damaged wool, cotton and mohair sweaters that would have been destined for the landfill. Each was embellished with upcycled and found objects and reflect a theme of something that was influential in my art over my lifetime. My last class yesterday was making a cold forged pendant and bracelet. I stamped a moth (transformation) onto an aluminum blank and textured the edges. The bracelet I made from a copper blank which I added a hammered texture around the words. I had a lot of fun this year learning some new techniques. I throughly enjoyed the time to make art just for art's sake. πŸ–ΌπŸŽ¨πŸ–€βš™οΈπŸ“ΏπŸŽ²πŸŒ‘πŸ”₯
