ROUGH SANDED?

Thoughts? This was a entryway organizer/coat/hat rack we built from mixed reclaimed wood. I thought the rough sanding enhanced the rustic look. We smoothed it down with 120 grit paper, then bathed it with Minwax Satin finish spray Lacquer before adding a coat of Minwax “Paste Wax” to really give it a buttery smooth finish.

One of my most used and treasured tools. I “inherited” this Black and Decker ‘WorkMate’ from my Grandfather YEARS ago. It has been a loyal and sturdy beast. It’s got to be in its late 30s to early forties. Still as strong as ever - BUT… the particle board top finally started to give way. No problem when you have tons of 2x6s laying around. Cut to size, added dog holes, and finished off with Minwax ‘Aged Barrel’ and a million coats of Minwax Satin spray lacquer. Back in Beast Mode!!

More off-cut items from the week. This little fusion of wood and industrial iron plumbing pipe was super easy!! We took a 2x6, angled the ends and then used the Wagner super grit “Paint Eater” disk to rough and texture before staining with Minwax Honey. Add A couple of coats of Minwax Satin spray lacquer, 3/4” pipe pieces, and some keyhole hangers and voila!

Throwback Thursday!

This was one of our first commercial projects- reclaimed pallet wood wall with industrial pipe shelving and a custom built hostess stand.

Picked up a ton of gorgeous cedar today. Started the milling process for a set of four modern styled Adirondack chairs and two side tables. These should be beautiful when done. Check out the milled pieces. Amazing color throughout. Cannot wait to see the finished product.
