I recently traded hemming a shower curtain in exchange for fresh eggs and honestly… seeing bartering make a comeback makes my heart so happy. There’s something special about exchanging handmade skills and supporting one another.

A little fun fact about my work: I rarely use my traditional sewing machine for all of my small goods I create. I use a serger which creates a stronger, cleaner, more professional finish.

In normal terms, think of it like the difference between a basic glued edge and a sealed edge. A serged hem is designed for durability, longevity, and holding up beautifully through use, washing, and everyday life. It helps prevent fraying, seams splitting open and adds strength.

Whether it’s custom work or handmade pieces from Linen & Lamb, I believe the details matter. Quality isn’t just about how something looks on day one, it’s about how it lasts. ✨

And yes… fresh eggs and beautifully finished hems are both things that make me happy. 🐓🪡🤍
