As our many loyal customers are aware, Second Chance Thrift was forced to close back in March due to Covid-19. We had hoped this to be a temporary situation but unfortunately it resulted in the permanent closure of our beloved store. My thanks go out to my family, our management staff and our employees, who became like family. It is with their support and efforts that Second Chance Thrift has been able to help benefit the VBSPCA these past ten years. Their work ethic and caring hearts would be a great benefit to any employer. In addition, I want to thank all our loyal customers who have become friends over the years. Your donations and purchases helped aid the VBSPCA and gave the fur babies, a Second Chance.
I especially want to thank the VBSPCA for all their hard work, without whom we would have not been so successful. We encourage everyone to continue supporting the VBSPCA.
It has been brought to my attention that a new tenant will be opening in our space this weekend. I wish them well. Over the last few days there have been numerous posts and phone calls expressing positive thoughts and excitement that we are reopening. As much as we would have loved to reopen, sadly, we are not. We thoroughly enjoyed being a cornerstone of the Virginia Beach neighborhood at our Shore Drive location. We were a family owned business with a love for animals and a desire to help the VBSPCA. As stated earlier, I wish the new tenant the best, but I want to reiterate that the original Second Chance and the VBSPCA are in no way affiliated with the new entity.
We want to thank everyone that gave both our families and our employees a paw-some ten years along with their positive and complimentary thoughts.
Thanks again and stay safe from Bob and the Second Chance family.
