The majority of the blanket fabric I buy ships to me from small shops around the country, which results in a lot of plastic packaging, and it makes my heart happy to be able to reuse it when I can 🌎❤️

Christmas came early!

I have fallen in love with patterns from Sotak handmade and when I found out she had a book well, I obviously had to have it!

Whew! Coming back up for air after two busy market weekends! Thanks to everyone who came out and supported small shops - fulfilling people's gift-giving dreams makes my heart so happy ❤️

Pulling out these old pointe shoes TOOK ME BACK, ya'all.

I danced for many years as a child/young adult. Mostly ballet, but modern dance was where my mind and body really came together - so much that I took the same non-majors class multiple times in college, just for the sheer joy that style of movement brought me.✌️

But most every year I was home dancing, I was performing in The Nutcracker. I was fortunate enough to live in a city large enough to have both a professional ballet studio and orchestra to perform together, while also being a city small enough to have minimal competition for parts. There would be weeks of rehearsal hustle, and then a pile of performances - the energy was so larger than life, so much that those same feelings come flooding back every year I get to go as an adult, with kiddos of my own.

The Nutcracker is such a thing of the holidays. The story is familiar and seasonal, the music is perfection, and the dancing... I just LOVE the dancing.

Maple Layne Market and I are working on something to celebrate this lovely tradition. We found this adorable print and made it into something my 10 year old self would have absolutely ADORED. And while it's just a bag, and I've gone overboard with this post, I can't help but feel sentimental and nostalgic - some things just have that affect on us, ya know? 🎄🩰

Now that we have these beautiful images from Missy Marshall Photography, I would like to take the opportunity to properly introduce Rachael and Colin Mathews of cheeky little goat! 🐐

Rach and I have been inseparable since right around 1989 — Colin joined the crew in high school and the four of us have been ever since!

When Rach came with me to ATL Market in July to help me scout vendors and goodies for our little shop, we got to talking. We both LOVE blankets, but want soft fabrics + beautiful designs, which (as it turns out) isn’t always easy to find! Thus, cheeky little goat was born.
