👟 🏃♂️ What began as a simple hobby has turned into a passion for running. Meet this week’s Runner Spotlight, Nick!
⏱️ How long have you been running?
I’ve been running for about three years now, and it’s become a big part of my routine.
🚶♂️➡️🏃♂️ What got you started running in the first place?
I wanted to find a new hobby, so I started by walking around my town. Over time, that turned into running, and I ended up really enjoying it.
🎯 What’s one running goal you’re working toward right now?
Right now, I’m working on improving my time for my next half marathon. I’ve also been thinking about taking the next step and training for a full marathon.
🌅 Early mornings, evenings, or whenever you can fit it in?
I’m more of a morning runner, but I enjoy evening runs too. It’s nice seeing more people out. It makes the run feel more lively.
👟 Shoes you’re loving right now?
Brooks Ghost
🤝 Solo miles or group runs and why?
I enjoy both solo and group runs, but group runs help keep me going strong. The energy and motivation from others really make a difference.
💪 What keeps you coming back to run, even on hard days?
What keeps me coming back is the progress I know I’m building over time, even on the hard days.
🧠 Best running advice you’ve ever received?
Run your own race and don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone’s journey is different.
✨ What’s something running has taught you about yourself?
Running has taught me that if I set my mind to something, I can make it happen. It’s shown me the power of discipline and consistency.
🥤 Go-to post-run treat or meal?
I usually go for a smoothie after my runs.
🎶 Favorite hype song (or song you secretly love to run to)?
I’ve got a few favorites, but some of my go-tos are Liberian Girl by Michael Jackson, Inside the Mattress by Future, Die on This Hill by Sienna Spiro, and Help Me by Tamela Mann. They all give me a different kind of energy depending on the run.
❤️ What do you enjoy most about running with this group?
The motivation and support from everyone keep me going and help me stay
