Luke Greene from Opelika, AL is a new artist at Red Hill Gallery. He is a Bird Carver and will be teaching carving classes this Spring at Red Hill. He has taught at the Spruill Center for the Arts in Atlanta and The Art Haus in Opelika. His pieces are for sale at the gallery, and anyone interested in the Spring classes should call 334-918-0043. Sgraffito has taken the pottery classes by storm!! What the heck is sgraffito, you might ask. One of the oldest and most popular pottery decorating techniques, sgraffito means to scratch and create an image or graphic, a process in which the pottery surface layer is removed to reveal “scratches” of a contrasting color. Want to learn how and create your own piece? Join Maria Lujan Auad on Saturday, January 28 from 9am – 12pm to perfect your skills! Call (334) 918-0043 to reserve a spot with payment of $85.
