We outfit trophy deer hunts in southeastern Iowa on over 6500 acres of exclusive hunting property. Our focus is on quality over quantity as we have thousands of acres to keep hunting pressure low and ensure our trophy potential remains strong, with high opportunity rates on 150+ caliber bucks.
Deer season started off with a bang 🤪 in SE Iowa as Mark took out our target buck opening night! We’ve had this multi brow giant hitting our plot pretty consistent over the last week, but never imagined it would happen this fast. Props to Mark for trusting us with his coveted Iowa tag and making a clean kill on this 15 pt stud.

The secret sauce revealed •• For real though this s**t works. An incredible liquid fertilizer that essentially puts a mineral lick right in vour crop and beefs up the attraction throughout the season. Seems like the vi**ra addition to our mineral blend is working wonders. Seeing some minor side effects with shedding of bloody fuzz which should decrease within 24 hours.

Last week had to run out and update a few sets of batteries on our and within about one hour, there were hundreds of micro sized ticks all over our bodies. Seeing the flies on the face of this giant, enduring the crazy hot temperatures right now, and reflecting on our own tick story really puts a lot of things in perspective. One being how easy we all have it and two thinking how every single animal in this world is a goddamn savage.

“Chocolate Milk” is back. This buck was featured in a recent episode of Crazy how many close calls we had this buck. My gut tells me he won’t be so lucky this season.
PLANTING BEANS IS A WASTE OF TIME 🤨. IF you don’t fence them off. Look at the difference👀 We threw a few plots in knowing this would happen just to prep the ground for a brassicas planting late summer and even with all the ag beans around for the deer to eat, they still hammer those young beans, and never give them a chance to really mature.

My type of fairway! Just wrapped up the last mowing on the year ✅. It’s getting to be a pretty massive operation with 40 plus clover plots scattered across 2 counties, but reward we will reap 🍀 = 🔨⏰🦌

We call this a “Holy S**t Buck”. Reason being is we have a lot of clients come through every year that are always are a little worried about shooting a buck under our 145” minimum. Now we hate these minimums, but in order to manage our properties we have to put some number on it and we understand sometimes it’s tough to truly judge a buck with all the adrenaline going through your body in that split second moment you have to make a decision. One thing we learned to tell our guys and gals that seems to work pretty well is if you look at a buck and you don’t have that holy s**t moment and know beyond a shadow of a doubt it’s a shooter that simply means it’s NOT!

OK here’s the scenario. You have waited 5 to 6 years to get your Iowa archery tag and you have dreams of your 180 inch giant that you’re going to shoot (because they are all over the place “As seein on TV” and then on the first morning of your hunt. This buck walks under your stand at 10 yards while you’re at full draw and he stops for 30 seconds. Are you going to shoot him? 🤷♂️🤷🤷♀️

Who thinks Iowa should have a Velvet archery season starting August 15th? That’s all I ever think about looking at these fuzzy giants. TBH though it wouldn’t really be fair going after them in these summer patterns. We’ll just Keep Iowa Great while all the other states are trying to become Great Again 😁
This is just the beginning! We went total HAM this spring on secluded clover plots and the velvet posse’s are keyed in and growing bone rapidly‼️Every day going forward is like Xmas Morning as the pics roll in 🤶 STAY TUNED.
